FN3 was the last game I played in this series, since then they just seem to be making changes for the sake of it. There was nothing wrong with Total Control Punching and yet they've dropped in favour of a quick flick punch system.
I tried the demo, but the controls were all wrong; I have to push left and right to move my fighter forward and backward? It used to be push the left stick Up for Forward which made sense and fitted with the right stick which controls punches. Maybe you can change that in the full game, but the demo left me a bit cold unfortunately, it wasn't intuitive and I didn't feel that I had any real control over what my fighter was doing, it was just flick the stick in a particular direction to throw a punch, they might as well make it a button masher. I think this franchise has had its day and needs to be rested for a while - just my personal opinion as a veteran of FN 1, 2 & 3, all of which I loved and played well into the small hours! |

Yes, for both systems this year. For the "other" system the music has to be stored on your hard drive. I'm not sure how it works for the PS3, but it has been confirmed that you'll be able to add your own music.

Being a Big big big fan of Fight Night Round 4 I was damn excited about this game and then there comes that playable Demo. the graphics are great and so as the gameplay but the thing which bothered me is the new "Analog Control System". I mean I am a great fighter in Fight Night 4 and can beat anyone almost within minutes but I didnt win any fight in the new Playable Demo of Fight Night Champion!!!
I play with Total Punch Control (Right Analog Stick Punching) in Fight Night 4 but in this new game its very different even with the Right analog stick punching. Is there option of old Controls (Like in Fight Night Round 4)? Or is the game has any practice mode for new controls? Please Help!!! Last edited by kashif; 03-03-2011 at 01:13 AM. |

It's put me off the game too, I loved TCP and it seems pretty cheap that having told gamers it's the best and most realistic way to throw a punch in a videogame, they go and change it for the new one!!
I played the demo and couldn't beat the opponent whereas on FN4 I could pretty much hold my own against anyone. Big mistake and a lost sale. Shame, as I've always enjoyed the Fight Night games. |

BTW, I realize I'm a horrible horrible gamer in the most literal sense. I am terrible at games.
However, in the history of playing Fight Night Round 4, and the old Knockout Kings 2000, I think I've gotten up from two knockdowns MAYBE two or three times in my entire life. And I've played these games heavy! But once you get knocked down a second time, it's nearly impossible for me to get the character to get up, whether it's pushing the buttons, or that completely batshit way they have it now where you have to keep moving the stick left to right and get it lined up in the middle. So how the hell do they have a trophy where you get up after a fourth knock down???? Even if I got knocked down once in the 1st round, and again in the 10th round, I usually just set the controller down, because no matter what I do the guy will never get up. |

Hmmmm I am sorry to say and I cant believe that I am writing this, I am not going to buy this game (Maybe in future if I find it very cheap) So sorry to see the controls changed. I hope they may bring old controls back by new update!
