Ok no worries i can understand why you ordered from movieplus have myself several times and well packed etc,but to be honest as i am into my collector of blu rays with slips then i just had to pay that few extra dollars more to get this from jb hifi.

Lets just hope they dont take the shipping costs into account when it gets here for customs if not then the price its at should be fine, was gonna order a few more titles but dont want to be hit with charges from customs.

Ive never used jb hifi to be honest. I do like slipcovers also. I think the reason that I have gone without the slip is I had $10 credit on the other site to use, so got it for $15.99.

Bought this today and it looks pretty good. One disappointing thing though...in the set up menu it says the US dubbed track is there but it's not. I've always wanted to hear this for the novelty value but instead it's an Aussie 2.0 track.

Sounds like another typical fault from Roadshow not to include it. If I were you i'd ring them asap and give them a word, so replacements can be worked out sooner than later.

Can anybody please tell me if this has any other audio options other than the Dolby 2.0 track, as i see the dts Master Audio symbol on the back cover on the picture earlier in this thread? Does this have a 5.1 Track?? Many thanks

there is a dts-ma track as the main option (but don't expect too much from
the soundtrack - i was far more impressed with the upgrade in video quality )

I contacted Roadshow and they're now communicating with me via email about this issue. Haven't had another response yet but I hope they can finally get their head around that I'm on about the blu ray and not the dvd!

From MichaelDVD.com.au:

Quote:
I have received a response from Roadshow's National Publicity & Promotions Manager regarding the Mad Max Blu-ray release and the US soundtrack. Their response is "I've had the following response from our Production Team: Yes, it's definitely there but it's just not a very obviously different soundtrack. The US mix only has some minor word replacements for some of the more colloquial Australian dialogue. The wording 'US Dubbed Dolby Digital Mono' was supplied to us by the US to use."
I call bullshit on this one from Roadshow. The original american dubbing is not "a few words" here and there, its the entire film, including Goose and Max. Anyhoo, my US copy should arrive next week, so when I check out the dubbing track on that, i'll compare it to the one I just watched (US MGM SE DVD) and see if the tracks are the same.

Yep, sounds like bullshit to me as well. How is it a dub track if the original actors voices are all still in place? And why bother including it at all if it's only a few words have been changed? Pissweak effort, Roadshow.

I triple call cullshit on this!

Firstly, every reference I can find of the American Dubbed track states that they pretty much replace every characters voice with a US actor, some say minus Mel and some say they do.

Secondly, I found this on IMDB"

Quote:
The dubbed American release changed some bits of dialog from Australian slang and phrases into American ones. Hense, "windscreen" became "windshield", "See looks!" became "Look see!", and "Very toey!" became "Super hot!".
Now, I actually checked the scene where one of the characters talks about someone going through a "windscreen" at the 5:46 timestamp. Not only does he say windscreen, but he says it twice.

So even if they were telling the truth - which they are NOT - there version of events isn't even true on their Bluray release either.

SHAME SHAME SHAME!

P.S. If anyone knows approx. where the other phrases are said, I will go check those lines too.

Not surprising seeing that this is the same company who who f*cked over fans of The Expendables by not including the Inferno documentary on the first release and then included it on a second release a few months later without any of the original special features. Bloody useless.

Roadshow must be stupid to think lying to customers is good business practice. Im so glad that I got Mad Max and The Expendables from the US. Ill try to avoid theyre local releases from now on. Atexp80 was right. Good luck to them.
