Dreadful as in it ripped the movie or dreadful in that the reviewer was a moron? Because I agree with him. I remember when I was over at a friend's house from college. He brought his friends over and popped in the original Jackass movie which had just released on dvd. For the next hour and a half I lay witness to one of the dumbest shows on the planet. All I kept thinking was, this, this is what's so popular on tv that people always talk about?

It's not like I don't enjoy physical comedy. I used to watch Super Dave Osborne all the time. It was a riot. This is just disgusting stupidity.

Everyone's tastes are different but for the review I either expected a fan who would give it a glowing review or somone like me who finds this stuff retarded. I don't think there is much of a middle when it comes to this stuff.

To each his own, I would say. People who like Jackass (myself included) don't need to read reviews to find out what they can expect, I would think.

What happend to my first post?

Anyway, I felt really sad for the reviewer when i read the jackass 3 review, it's like he had never laughed before and he had really lost touch with society. Jackass isn't high art but I feel very sorry for people that at least don't get a chuckle out of it. Seriously relax and enjoy life a little, theres a whole world out side your church thats just waiting for you

And the review itself was very bad and really showed a lack or professionalism. Of course a reviewer is going to inject his own opinions of a film into a review, But Martin went beyond that. He purposly added little knocks at the film that had nothing to do with a biased review (was it really neccessary to mention that you thought the giant hand was more then spring loaded? Does that even matter in relation to the prank?).

And to top it all off - Martin was even a princess in the audio and video writeups, I tend to think he rounded his review down simply because he didn't like the movie. There is also over an hour of extras and you say the disc limps in that department??? Thats better then alot of titles, and don't tell me the low score is because of whats not there (3D version) you grade whats there, not whats missing. the first release of avatar got high reviews and it had no extras! I bet if Never say Never had the same quality of picture, sound and extras as Jackass 3D Martin would be screaming like a school girl at how awesome the disc is

Do reviewers get to choose what movies they review?

There's a reason why it's called jackass. And the producers are laughing all the way to the bank.

You're really pushing it don't you think. Idiotic comedy is one thing but I'm pretty sure I can enjoy life without needing to watch someone smoke an a** cigarette. I enjoy Animal House for example. There's plenty of hilarious gross and stupid stuff in there. But Jackass is just utter stupidity to the 10th degree. I'm not judging anyone, but come on, it's a bit of a stretch to expect everyone to like this or think they're prudish and uptight otherwise.

i didn't love or hate this movie, i thought it was completely mediocre. with that kind of budget, you'd think they'd come up with some more inspired stunts.

Have you ever heard of "The Three Stooges" ???? I would say America's all time classic comedy trio and yes all they did was stupid antics.....

P.S

Please I am in no way comparing the three stooges to Jackass (i would never offend the three stooges like that) but its stupid comedy none the less

Jackass is the ultimate slapstick comedy. It sucks some people can't appreciate it for what it is.

I and II were hysterical, III though seemed like a sad paycheck for everyone involved - it felt old, stale and pointless - Jackass' 15 minutes are long gone IMO.

JAckass 3 felt anything but stale, in fact the guys had more energy and creativness in this one then they did in part 2. it was like they all missed filming the series and wanted to return to do it one last time (although, you can bet a fourth one is on the way)

Steve-o was cleaned up and the rest of the guys seemed to be having fun again, I never saw part 3 as stale or as a cash grab, it was old school jackass with a more mature cast

And when A jackass movie makes north of 100 million at the box office, it's kind of hard to back up your claim that their 15 minutes are long gone, Paramount could pump one of these movies out next year and it would make money because people like these guys and their antics. Of course it may eventually get tiresome, but the franchise is still very much within it's 15 minutes of fame

So will the first two come to Blu-ray?

I'm really surprised the studio didnt capitalize on the great chance to release I and II along with III.

Do you know how much product would move if people were in the store shopping for III and saw I and II on the shelf on in the suggestion bin at Amazon.com? Jesus Christ! What are they waiting for? Jackass IV?

I'm pretty sure 1 and 2 were shot on standard def videotape, which would make a Blu release pointless.

Can't wait for this. While not as good as Number 2, it still was hilarious.

Actually, that's true. But, can't they upconvert it or something, just so it's maximized?

I actually thought they switched over to HD cameras for the movies. I believe they talked about that, either during the making of the first movie, or in the supplements.
