Default Star Wars The Complete Saga

I thought this deserves it's own thread, especially since it's 9 months away.

Here are the links for the $99 pre-order ($15 per film):

Wow first time that CDN pre order price has matched US prices. This could be a good year for us Canadians in terms of media pricing.

How do you see that?

Amazon.COM = 89.99

FS/BB 99.99

Amazon.ca = 125.99

Its progress, as FS/BB aren't at $120+, but still not as good given the dollar parity.

I have no doubt that Costco will get this...and it'll be cheaper to boot.

What other people said. 99.99 might not be the same as 89.99 but considering they could have easily charged 129.99, I will take it. The price at Amazon.CA will drop, they have been on the ball with dropping prices on movies that were on sale at Wal-Mart.

And you will be the first to let us know, right?

Amazon.com adds delivery and import fees which pushes the price over the BB and FS price.

Yeah but import fees = taxes. You have to pay taxes at FS/BB but you do not have to pay these for Amazon.com orders. So they cancel each other out. It is just the shipping that is extra. If you order other items in the same order shipping can be brought down to lower as well.

Right now my order is in with amazon.com to catch any flash sales between now and release day. When it gets closer I'll decide if I keep the order there or move it. Currently even with shipping it is $3 less in total to my door than from FS/BB in Canada. If the $Cdn keeps rising it might even be a better deal.

I hope the actually give this some cover art and don't release it as it is displayed on the website.

They also offer just the original movies:

Or just the prequels:

Also available on Amazon sites:

.co.uk - £58.33 + £3.08 shipping = £61.41 ~ 94.26 CDN

.com - $89.99

.ca - 125.99

As usual .co.uk wins. Hopefully this will drop and it will be confirmed region free as many of the Fox BDs are region locked, so we will have to wait and see - but the UK distribution of the Clone Wars BDs are region free.

You will get it for the $80 price, but they definitely won't be automatically applying an additional percentage off the price. You would need to reorder it if this 15% off does apply. Of course you may need to call them to get the price match to even the $80 mark as their system isn't great at it. So if the discount is valid, reorder!

This sale is already 6$ cheaper to start with and if they give another 15% off then I'm getting seriously ripped off by keeping my preorder from months ago. What to do? Can we assume Best Buy will lower our earlier preorders for us, or do we need to re-preorder?

If you love Star Wars you will buy these no matter what. You can find the original theatrical cuts on DVD pretty easy still. If you don't particularily care for Star Wars you weren't in line in 77 or 97 or 99 to see any of these films so nobody gives a shit. But spending your time sitting in front of your computer whining and moaning like a spoiled little child not getting their way reeks of serious mental and social issues that require professional help and perscription drugs.

My pre-order went through, as did the JP deluxe set. If it shows up covered in French then I will just return to the store and pick one up in Florida before my cruise.
You know what the funny thing is? Everyone saying they will refuse to buy it, are all going to rush out day one and buy it. Trust me, watch their collections.

By the way, that bestbuy deal is hot, preordered, along with Thor.

I don't think I'm going to pre-order from Best Buy.

I'm going to go to RBC - got a piece of mail from them saying that if I got an estimate on life insurance, I'll get a $25 Toys R Us gift card. So I figure I'll just get TRU to price match BB or FS or whoever on release day and use the gift card.

I'm only 20, but whoever said life insurance was a bad investment?

I cancelled my original pre-order and went with this one. Don't know if it is needed or not, but the last thing I would want is to overpay.
