Wow the VHS box is one of the best I've ever seen. There's a touch of irony with that VHS case now, it been an extinct format.... Thanks for sharing. I watched all three before Christmas and enjoyed them all. But no.1 is magical.

looking forward to getting this

never bought it on DVD originally as I waiting for some reason for a better box set to come out and then later forgot about it!!!

Glad i didnt now!! As I wouldnt rebuy it on BD.

Not seen them in years - after watching the original movie to death at the cinema and VHS, I didnt need too!
Was never that keen on the others - JP2 was really an odd movie to me, just cant explain why and my least enjoyed Spielburg movie.
And 3 wasnt that bad - just didnt feel right as a sequal. And isnt based on any novel like the other 2.

But the the dinos look pretty and make great monster CGi FX eye candy.

I am guessing this release - be it a boxset or single editions - is gearing up for a 4th film, which has been rumour control for years and years now.

one version i read about had the dino genes spliced with humans - making weird dino soldiers with guns. I so hope this path isnt taken.

I'm hoping we get some sort of Special packaging like that one, and not some boring thin cardboard.

Universal should get the mould out of storage for ideas, because it could be really special if they put their minds to it.

Hoping they do a good edition of this, I love the films.

Well, I love the first two. Obviously the original is the best, but I also really enjoyed Lost World when I was younger, I don't get the hate for it, it's a decent movie.

The third one, however, is one fossil that should stay buried.

Exactly how I feel. I'd definitely buy The Lost World if they're individual releases.

None of them were as good as the books which were a lot more horror in tone. John Hammond dies in the book and I think it was a fitting end. After that the films were playing catch up. The Lost World has always put people on the fence but it was well recieved made good money. JPIII has always been treated like a bastard son but some of the sequences and especially the atmosphere make it a worthy part three. Although the script wasn't finished when they started it's a tidy film considering. My only problem is trying to get the original cast members back on the island with good reason.

1 and 3 are great but number 2 is the crystal skull of the series.

No way! 3 is awful. That blonde woman running around screaming for the whole movie...I was really hoping a raptor would eat her. >

2 has: "mom, there's a dinosaur in the back yard..."

Hmm this would be an interesting one, from what I have read, they were originally planning a second trilogy and when the scripts were nearly complete (or maybe it was the script for the 4th), the original writer Michael Crichton died. I know the script was re-written several times because Speilberg (who was set to return) wasn't happy with it. Anyways from what I have read they decided against the extension and have been toying with the idea since.

I hope that isn't BS that I'm spreading but it's what I've read...

But this is why 2 kinda sucked, "there's a dinosaur in the back yard", "he needs a real night light"...it started off well but when they get back to America and the T-Rex get's loose...oh dear haha, and then the whole people running around screaming was so contrived haha, bad extras ftl! I mean come on, I think it was McDonalds or Burger King or something that took the Micheal out of that scene, with the dog from Men In Black in a dinosaur costume....haha!

Number 3 wasn't that bad, I quite enjoyed it. Plus the whole Spineasaurus vs T-Rex scene kicked ass! What more could you ask for? Although they kinda shot themselevs in the foot with that one, T-Rex being their iconic dinosaur and then having it die. I was crushed when I saw that in the cinema! Haha, anyways, I'm gunna stop now, I'm slating films I love too much!

Will have to disagree with you there!

No point going on about 1 as its the classic!

The Lost World is much better than 3 tho!

This is great news! I have been waiting for the trilogy on Blu for a while! Still have my 4 Disc DVD trilogy and all 3 on VHS! Absolutely love them!

The first is of course, the best! I love it so much, it is one of my favourite films of all time, ever since I was a kid I always had fascination with dinosaurs, used to collect those weekly dino mags!

I personally really like the third, I can see why it's kind of the black sheep of the trilogy, but I still think it's pretty good (not as good as the first and second though). But definitely not as bad as Crystal Skull!

But this is just fantastic news! Can't wait for an official announcement! Hopefully it will be packed full of bonus features and come with some extra goodies (maybe another BttF Tin type pacakge?), and of course, great transfers!

They've been treated almost the same in the past, my BttF and JP boxsets are almost identical, they even had more or less the same steelbooks and UE's. So fingers crossed.

Perhaps we could have a tin edition with brochures to the resort, a mini sahving cream spray for storing DNA and some fake newspaper reports of the T-Rex attack from The Lost World. The Icing on the cake would be a hatching raptor egg with room for the discs.

Now that sounds great!

If only all sets could be produced like that!

I though that the first ninety minutes or so of Lost World were fantastic, up to the point that they leave the island. The whole T-Rex loose in the city sequence just didn't fit at all. Spielberg changed the whole final act of the film at the last minute. Lost World was supposed to conclude with the Pteranadon aviary sequence that was fully storyboared, scripted and prepped. But after he saw how audiences were reacting to Independence Day in the Summer of '96, Spielberg thought that the movie needed a bigger hook for it's climax, and hastily brought in the San Diego sequence at the eleventh hour. The Pteranadon aviary sequence was cut-and-shunted on to JP3 instead. That's why the Vince Vaughn character simply disappears from the movie - he was meant to die heroically saving Malcolm's daughter in the aviary sequence. If Spielberg had stuck to his guns and left the final act of Lost World alone, the movie could have been one of his best adventure yarns.
