Heh? I have it on DVD in Widescreen. I think people need to make sure before they post the movie on here. Always do an amazon search before you post.
Ill add "Cyborg 2" with a very young Angelina Jolie to your list. It is only available in pan and scan DVD. |

![]() Quote:
You can have 'widescreen' by placing the image cropped inside the 640x480/4:3 area, but an anamorphic image will expand to 720x480/16:9, and be a true wide image. Many DVDs were 4:3 'widescreen'. You have to look at the back of the DVD and make sure it says 'enhanced for widescreen tvs', or anamorphic on the back. Example: Here's my 'fake widescreen' 48 Hours DVD. If you don't have your DVD player set to stretch out 4:3 DVDs to be fullscreen, it will actually play pillar boxed. If you do stretch it out, it just looks funny. ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us Here is High Fidelity, an anamorphic disc, properly widescreen ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us Last edited by Daaark; 03-03-2011 at 03:21 PM. |

Street Fighter 2: The Animated Movie
The Gnome Mobile Dersu Uzala Madadayo I also think A Time To Kill doesn't have an anamorphic release nor does Dick Tracy. May be wrong on those 2 but I don't think I am. Last edited by yojoeski; 03-04-2011 at 02:17 AM. |

It was re-issued in the US in 2005 with an anamorphic transfer (it does however lose things like the portal Kane steps through when arriving in New York and altered effects on the rim of the glasses he knicks off of the street hustlers, also changes a line of dialogue as Kane and his henchmen breaks out from the cave. Furthermore it drops the Suze DeMarchi "God Took a Picture" song for Loreena McKennitt's "Bonny Portmore" during the end credits).

This Dudley Moore classic exists on a horrible 4:3, absolutely horrific quality transfer, DVD. At least they are finally going release it correctly very soon. The current DVD transfer is so bad that even if the Blu ray is a mediocre one, it's going to be miles ahead still.

Really? I thought I read something not too long ago saying that when/if Dick Tracy comes out on blu-ray, that it would be the first time it was released anamorphically.
Update as well, checked with a friend who owns A Time To Kill on dvd and he has informed me that it is in fact an anamorphic transfer so please remove from the list. |
