Well I took back the Movies & exchanged them only to have the EXACT same issues!
![]() It's the Samsung BD-D6500ZA.... I'm going to call Samsung support tomorrow & if a fix isn't on the way (I'm under 30days still) the Samsung player is going back! Just unbelievable!!! Oh, & BB let me come in & check the new disks on their setups, The Disks failed on the BD-D6500 they had on display but worked just fine in the other 3D Blu Ray players they had??? At least BestBuy was really cool about the entire issue! I wonder why Samsungs player is having problems, DOES ANYONE have this Blu Ray player & Cars 2 (or the Toy Story's) works properly??? |

Plays fine on my Panasonic. May indeed be a Samsung firmware issue.

Completely locked up my Panasonic BDT110 @ 1:05:53 (meeting of the lemons) I had to power off the player and then forward to that spot. I actually then rewound it to a minute before that and it played through it and the rest of the movie just fine. I was PO'ed at first

By the way, on a related note, was the ultimate villain obvious? I won't say who it is in case someone hasn't seen it(and wants to). The only other comment is about the short that's included on the 3D disc, 'Air Mater'. I can't make up my mind if that's a blatant plug for the off-shoot film they're talking about('Planes') or if it was just a joke for the end of the short. What do you guys think? John. |

X2, Actually there's about a 3 minute 3D preview of "Planes" & "Beast" both coming to theaters on the Toy Story 1, & 2 - 3D Disks, my Toy Story 3 didn't work enough to play the previews, just skipping & pausing....
Beast- Summer 2012 Planes- Summer 2013 BTW: Currently on hold with Samsung for the 3rd Time....... I'll post if I get an answer about a Firmware update..... Thanks for the replies, I thought I was going crazy for a moment there... Last edited by Waszak1977; 11-03-2011 at 05:53 PM. |

Hi All,
This is a very valid point, I have a panasonic player and viera TV and have many many 3D movies but i agree Cars 2 is the only one I seem to be having an issue with at the moment, I can confirm it freezes after every chapter I then have to press play on the remote again for it to continue playing then next part very very annoying indeed. |

UPDATE:
![]() SAMSUNG... Very nice customer service, They are fully aware of the problem with "playback issues" on the Samsung Bly-Ray Players. It was explained to me that the latest Firmware update (that recently came out) is now "old" and the programmers are working the issue right now. They do not have a turn around time yet for the new firmware update but are sending out an email to all people registered with Samsung about the issues with Cars 2, Toy Story 2, & Toy Story 3. It does not matter what Firmware you have so attempting to reset or "go back" to older firmware setting will NOT fix the issue. Returning the Blu-Ray Player for another will not run the Disks either. So, other than having to express a bit of patients & short of getting a different Player (which I'm not going to bother with), we just have to wait. Conclusion for Samsung owners: Samsung is working the issue & it's escalated to the top. The update will be out as soon as the programmers have the playback issues fixed. If you are registered with Samsung via email they will email you about the issue & when resolved. Cheers ![]() |

Thank you, I have updated my Firmware from 1.14 to 1.34 so testing it now on a panasonic player to see if all is good ill report back in 20 mins, keeping fingers crossed.
Tried and Tested once the Firmware has been updated on the Panasonic this works fine no freezes at all, very nice indeed thank for the info Waszak. I am sure this will help alot of people just keep your manual safe for the BD player so you know how to update the Firmware. Last edited by MrBrains; 11-03-2011 at 08:36 PM. |

The blu-ray bonus features disc freezes on my Denon BDP-2012 UDCI. It get's to the main menu but when you make a selection, it freezes. It plays on my PS3 though. Go figure. It does have the latest firmware though. Very disappointed in Denon. I hope they fix this (I did use the Maxell brushless disc cleaner).

Is anyone having issues toggling between the different audio? Last night I put in to watch Cars 2 and it was only playing with dolby digital (when I pressed display it said dolby digital multichannel). I tried to toggle the audio channels on my PS3 but it kept telling me the operation is not available. I then tried Toy Story 1 3D and it was playing in dts hd audio. Anyone have something similar to them? How can I have dts hd on for Cars 2? Thanks!

My Oppo never stuttered or glitches, BUT it did not play the movie in 3D.. The top menu was in 3D, but not the movie. The tv thought it was 3D and the Oppo said it was 3D, but I think remember the previews with killer 3D. I could have watched the movie without the glasses, except for the top menu. Going to try my PS3 now.

But come to think of it, maybe it's not even out in the theaters yet, don't know for sure.

I've been having the same freezing issues with my Vizio VBR133. Playing Cars2 3D it freezes to the point of being unwatchable, though it plays flawlessly in my PS3. Despite this fact, I believe there is something inherent in the disk that is causing this. I retested the player with all my other 3D titles without a single hitch. I noticed while examining the disk for any dirt that it seems more than the usual transparent, and the print on the front is odd in that it covers only half the disc. I'm just speculating but perhaps this causes a flicker effect as it spins and makes it more dificult for the laser to read. I returned my disk to Amazon for a replacement (the 1st time I've ever returned anything) but after reading this thread I fear the next disk will be more of the same. Hopefully Vizio will remedy this with a new firmware update or Disney will recall the disks and fix them.
