I like Spirited Away best of all the one's I've seen. My Neighbour Totoro is a close second.
I got a cheapo DVD of all of the films from eBay so I'm slowly working through them. This is what I've seen so far: Grave Of The Fireflies, My Neighbour Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Only Yesterday, Pom Poko, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle and Ponyo. |

If I could get that for around the price you paid I would. Think it would definitely be worth it to see all the films. EDIT: Another seller on ebay.com selling the set for around £20.50 Last edited by DaveSimonH; 04-27-2011 at 01:10 PM. |

Spirited Away
Howl's Moving Castle These two I'd like very much to be released in HD, on Blu-ray but still no word. Have to check out "Grave of the Fireflies" people say it's an awesome anime film. Edit: Re-release of Ponyo? What will it have different? |

I'm going to order the japansese BD of Whisper of the Heart since it's my favourite film (any genre, live action or not). That calls for the best edition.

I wouldn't have said the Optimum releases have been worse than the Japanese so far. The covers aren't as good in my opinion but I think the DNR was a good choice.

Looks like another good release. 68 minute English voice cast interviews/documentary is something unexpected. The US DVD's featurette was only about 5 minutes long. Optimum unearthed something I may not be as interested in (hate dubs) but looks good!

Fingers crossed the Yamadas & Laputa releases have slipcovers to match-ish my Ponyo deluxe release, and the Nausicaa re-release could give them a chance to add in a DVD like the other 3 sets and a matching slip. In an ideal world all of them would have "Deluxe Editons" like Ponyo, but that seems unlikely at this stage. |

My copies were sent to me yesterday from HMV so hopefully they'll arrive in the next couple of days so can't wait.
I'm interested to see how the numbering system works out in the end cos Optimum really have ballsed it up for the BD releases. |

So to clarify it appears Ponyo will be getting re-released with a number 1 as it was the first blu ray release with Nausicaa as 2 and Laputa and Yamadas as 3 and 4?
Is Nausicaa already numbered as 2 or is it also released with a 6 on it like the DVDs? Last edited by russgup; 05-04-2011 at 12:58 PM. |

they are simply renumbering the blus to be in order of BD release.. (which they claim Ghibli have told them to do) Nausicaa is currently released on BD as number 1. |

So what does that make Ponyo - I thought that was released first on BD?
