Blasphemy! Without some DCs of films, we'd never have the full story to begin with, and in most cases the DC turns out better than the theatrical version. Case in point is the DC of "Daredevil", which is far superior story-wise to its theatrical counterpart.

After reading some of your opinions throughout this thread and after taking a look at your Blu-ray collection, I feel you contradict yourself. Let's see, Bullseye drops the F-bomb(language) in Daredevil. Will Smith uses profanity in I,Robot. Wolverine has chunks of his flesh ripped away(semi-graphic violence) in X3 during his encounter with the Phoenix force. Since you claim to have strong feelings about the inclusion of such material, one has to wonder why you even own any of them? |

Interesting to think the Director did not have the luxury of yelling cut during the "Burning of Atlanta" scene, you set fire to a Hollywood backlot and you roll camera's until it's burnt to the ground.

This is exactly what I meant, the movie has a budget of xxx$,there is a person employed(hopefully on good wages)who's job it is to ensure continuity, and then it just seems lazy, that the Director does'nt look at the Final Cut and say lets get em back,I realise reshoots are now common practice but are they driven by the money people (suits) responding to test audiences,or have they simply had enough and are thinking of the next vehicle.

Here are a few examples of when the director should have yelled 'Cut!':
* When Harrison Ford said "Sure, I'll Do Indiana Jones 4....what's a Crystal Skull?: * When Superman Returns was a concept. * When Clueless was written as a film to appeal to the ditzes and boob-job queens in Beverly Hills * When George Lucas was born * When Wes Craven said "Yeah, Scream 3. Now THAT'S a sequel worth filming!" * When someone gave those three idiots a handheld camera, left them in the woods and said "Go find a witch named Blair" |

this thread has turned into nothing but a bashing thread.....like we really need another one of those!!
![]() i personally don't care for the way daniel radcliffe delievered his line in Harry Potter 7.1. [Show spoiler] i don't have a problem w/the line itself, just the way it was delivered. |

* That fat guy in Happy Gilmore who shouts 'Happy you got this Shooter's gonna choke!' What was the point of that? * I hated the way Half Blood Prince ended. (*SPOILER!*) Snape just walks up, hits Harry and says 'I'm the half-blood prince' and walks off. It felt flat to me. There's this whole story build up in the film and one line closes it? Didn't sit well with me. |

I'll go with you on Half-Blood Prince. It felt like other than a few quick references here or there, they pretty much left the whole reason the subtitle of the movie is HALF-BLOOD PRINCE out of the movie! I haven't read the book in a while, but jeez...

OH! And for my own choice when the director should have said cut? The whole last thirty minutes of Return of the King!!! Jeeeez. Or at least he could have filmed it WITHOUT copious amounts of slo-mo. That was absolutely killer... I squirmed awkwardly in my seat the whole time waiting for it to end...

1) In the Director's Cut of "Daredevil", there is more language (from many characters) than in the theatrical version. For the record, no, I don't approve of it. I don't think its necessary, and I definitely think the film would be better served without it. However, I also recognize that outside of G-rated fare (which is becoming increasingly rare these days), its tough to find a movie that doesn't have any form of objectionable content. What I try my best to do is weigh the scales a bit, and determine for myself which is worse. In the case of this film, I'm very happy that they cut out the sex scene with Matt & Elektra, because it was irrelevant to the story (the director only added it after test screenings), but they also reinstated more language. It's not easy for me to be objective about these things, but at least I still try. 2) Ditto on the language front for "I, Robot". 3) Even though it is fairly graphic, Wolverine's encounter with the Phoenix is still far less extreme than seeing her wipe out entire groups of people, and turning them to dust. Plus, that scene actually serves the story, since it shows how far Logan would go to save someone he cares about...even from themselves. |

well friends, graphic violence is to show as well how serious things are getting and it serves some movie that you like it or not.
some are unneeded i give you that. but some are. cameron should have scream cut when he saw dicaprio`s name on titanic`s cast. |
