Ouch! Tough lesson to learn.
I still worry about my TV when I'm not home thinking that an earthquake is gonna break it. I could never do that to my TV or anything I own....on purpose. The closest I've did is kinda bend my PS3 controller a bit that now it does R2,X, then triangle in that order when I bend it a bit. Can't wait til a game needs that combination with the quickness! I'll just bend my controller ![]() |

I think we have all done similar foolish things in our lives, that's what makes us human. I remember about 7 years ago when I got the shits with a ps2 game I was playing, and I grabbed my empty coffee mug and hit it against the arm of my old lounge, the mug shattered into many pieces and 1 piece actually flicked up and hit my old Sony crt tv, it didn't break it but it took a big chip out of the screen, I learned to control my temper over such small things after that.

I got my new tv (not technically)!!!!! I just came from Best Buy with this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Panasoni...&skuId=9761059
It was on clearance for $499+$41 (tax)= $540. Even though the website says $599, I was able to get the BB employee to pricematch one of their similar Panasonics which was $499. Thats all I can afford as of now. I'll post pictures later on. Last edited by Blu-ray Fanatic; 04-26-2011 at 09:53 PM. |

Here we go. Break-in period is basically the first 150-250 hours of your plasma's life. Being new, the phosphors burn hotter and people say using break in images is the way to go. Basically it's a series of images that run for a set amount of time, allowing the phosphors to age evenly and in the end allow your set to display the most accurate colors possible. A lot of my friends with plasmas have done this and swear by it. Here's a great thread that has download links to slideshows. One's to burn onto a DVD, the other to shove on a thumb drive. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1053444 It sounds like a big time investment but it's really only about a week of solid use. A few of my friends that did the break-in couldn't do it the entire time since they were replacing their main set, but what they did was stayed away from black bar content and heavy game play during the time. And when they weren't using the set they ran the images. I did have one friend that took a good two weeks to break in his set because he didn't want to leave it running while he was away in fear of an image freezing on the screen ![]() ![]() There are a lot of people that say modern plasmas don't need a break in period, but I for one am for it. Oh, and my crazy friend, he got his set 6 months ago and he said he could tell the difference after break-in. Oh, and don't confuse break-in with burn-in. I'd say it's pretty darned hard to burn-in a modern plasma these days. I'm sure others here will chime in as well. |

Well I finally watched a blu-ray on my new Panny. All I gotta say is," Holy Shit!" (excuse my language). The blacks are hell a lot better than my Sharp Aquos. Now, I don't regret breaking my Sharp Aquos. The Panny justs stomps on my lcd like an insect.
