It's just crushing, the lonliness and sadness he's experiencing, and he doesnt utter 1 single word.
The the literal/figurative 'tipping point' finish of that scene is impressive too. In the hands of less talented folk that could have easily been a cheesy, obvious 'oooooh, look everybody...symbolism' moment but it not only worked, it worked really well.

That is a gem of a scene, but it is a shame that clip didn't incorporate the beginning of the next scene filming the skyscrapers,it really is an extention of that scene rather than the following one.

This scene from To live and die in LA is to me one of the greater in the 80's.Don't know why,but just love it to death

I absolutely love that sequence too and I couldn't tell you exactly why either.

In a lot of ways it reminds me of the flight deck ballet at the beginning of Top Gun...it's hard to nail down how they do it but they both sort of set a tone that helps you take the rest of the movie seriously when every brain cell you have is telling you not to.

Almost Famous: Tiny Dancer scene

Boogie Nights: Jesse's Girl scene

Plus numerous Disney and Pixar scenes.

To be clear:the movie is in my top 10 list for sure, and on some days top 5.Just to clarify.

Another great scene from perhaps the greatest movie ever made:

The final action scene of the last of the Mohicans is so powerful IMO. The score and the satisfaction of seeing Magua being killed is easily my favorite scene in any movie.

I totally forgot about this one.

The score is just awesome.

Tha Major sacificing himself . . . Hawkeye putting him out of his misery . . .

Then, the look that Magua gives the younger Munro right after he kills Hawkeye's brother . . . and that little wave of his hand . . . as you said. Powerful!

Might as well post it . . .

So much emotion, with so little or nothing needing to be said.

Pulp Fiction, when Butch saves Marsellus. That scene built up so well, and the climax / ending was just eye-popping and can't take your eyes off quality. Especially when Butch slowly takes his time to choose his weapon.

[Show spoiler]Starting from a street chase to a brawl, to then getting kidnapped, tied up, then coming back for some retribution and letting old beefs go away. And when Butch hops on Zed's Chopper.... just icing on the cake.
