Nothing yet but it will come. My guess is the UK will have a single-disk release.

Probably not until later, judging from Gone with the wind and Wizard of Oz.

On Amazon.co.uk right now, you can pre-order the "collectors edition" (the picture is of a single Blu Ray case) for a little over $20.

UK version will be in PAL format (just an FYI for the uninformed).

BTW- Did anyone notice that Amazon has this as:
"Number of discs: 1" ?

Guess they threw that listing together in a hurry.

Wrong-o; YOU are uninformed. As a WB release worldwide, it is 99.999% certain to be region-free with SD extras in NTSC (not PAL), even in the UK. (Edit: Even when they DON'T own the worldwide rights, WB's UK movie discs are almost always US-friendly; their UK version of Dances With Wolves is a prime example.)

I just preordered this very promising set, sure to be a landmark package of a landmark film. Considering that and all the contents and features of the package, Amazon's current price of $45 seems quite fair. Besides, I love these big-box UCEs.

For anyone who's interested in buying it, I suggest you preorder it soon.

Not generally a fan of UCE's, but I made an exception with this set as it looks to be of excellent quality. I hope it will be genuinely limited and numbered.

With the latest blu-ray.com update seeming to confirm that the set is 3 BDs instead of 2, that brings back the question: Will the 1925 silent version be in HD? It was pretty much impossible at 2 BDs, but with 3 BDs it's possible. But then, are they doing a new restoration of the silent or keeping the old Thames Television restoration--and does the latter even exist in HD?

I'm on the fence about the UCE or the unswagged UK edition. I have the UK preordered to lock in the price. Maybe I should just preorder our US version as well and just see what happens with prices and such as it gets closer...

Broke down and pre-ordered the big spectacle UCE!!!

I was hoping they would include a soundtrack CD or two, like they did with the Gone With The Wind UCE. Even though I already have the very nice 2 CD box set of the soundtrack (pictured below) it would have been cool to have this included in one big box.

I love this soundtrack!

And I'm sure Warner loves you for thinking that way and wishes more folks would think like you. I think the price is an insult and a rip-off. Throw in a couple bucks worth of junk and inflate the price 3x? Shakes head and pre-orders the movie only UK release.

[/threadcrap]
My apologies. Had to say it, but I'll only say it once.

If the UK version is only one disc, then why is the UK getting the movie on one disc and the US is getting it split? The pics we've seen of the US UCE clearly show 3 discs and 2 of the discs say "1959 Part 1" and "1959 Part 2".
