OK, now I see. You're just looking at the price if you only order Troy from Warners by itself (so you don't get free standard shipping) and you must have that deal with Amazon where you pay $69 (or whatever it is) for a year's worth of "free" shipping. When I order from Amazon, I always make sure I order enough so my total order is over $25 to qualify me for the actually free "super savers" shipping. Same thing when I order from Warners; I make sure my order is over $50 to qualify for the free shipping.

Even better, I ordered one of their box sets and I already have two of the BD's in it. Why would I do that you ask, because that makes the movies $11.24 each. Troy is in one of those sets. It's $20.21 by itself with the code so in some cases it's cheaper to buy the 4 pack and give the other two as gifts or trade them in somewhere. Works for me.

Yep, that sounds good to me also.

Are these films available only as a box set? The first one ws a classic and I definitley want for my collection. The second was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I have not seen the third.

I don't think you are looking at the bigger picture here but you keep trying to make a point based just one buying on disc. Well obviously that would be more but once your item goes over $50 shipping is free. Everytime someone mentions this all you keep saying is based on buying just one blu-ray movie. Also less we forget that if you were just to buy Troy it is $23.95 and you still have to add shipping if you don't have prime, since your order does not exceed $25.00. So if we were to do an actual apples to apples comparison, you would see the numbers and logic are incorrect. Based on your assumptions of someone buying only one disc, then Amazon would be cheaper. However if you were to buy the two you mention you want (Ocean's and Troy) it would be more like this:

Amazon.com -- Troy $23.95 + $55.99 for Ocean's = $79.74
WB -- Troy $20.22 + Ocean's $44.96 + Tax (6%) $4.24 = $69.42

Difference of $10.32, where do you see that Amazon.com is cheaper?

Every announcement and I'm buying
I have to throw in a disk for free shipping
but I have saved a ton over amazon as I
don't pay $69 for free shipping... hmmmm

Because I do not like spending more money just to save money. I wanted one movie at the time: Troy; it was cheaper at Amazon. I have no doubt the box set (which I may or may not buy) would be cheaper at Amazon as well when you include tax and shipping charges from WB.

ALL I SAID WAS: I will wait for it to be at Amazon. Period. And then everyone is telling me that that's foolish. No, it's not foolish.

I agree with you, I am glad that coupon expires next week, because of that coupon I am saving some money, but I am loosing even more, I have bought 40 films from WB’s website since our Blu-Ray buy-a-thon.

And of course you are entitled to your opinion, I am not shooting down your opinion, just trying to make a point for anyone else reading this thread that is not as seasoned when it comes to where to buy Blu-ray's and how to get them the cheapest possible way. Most people would be willing to purchase an additional movie that they want anyways to get free shipping and on a per movie cost, it would be cheaper than Amazon. That's all...

No, when you say: "I don't think you are looking at the bigger picture" you are shooting down my opinion. Furthermore, you are stating that your opinion is somehow right and mine is not in addition to saying that I do not understand simple economics.

And then the condescending remark of "just trying to make a point for anyone else reading this thread that is not as seasoned when it comes to where to buy Blu-ray's and how to get them the cheapest possible way"

I had no idea one comment could create such an uproar.

How do you figure, that is my observation, and not in anyway stating that your opinion is wrong. I was just trying to say that there is a bigger picture here and better deal when you buy an additional movie and not base your entire opinion on buying one disc. Also I believe in one of my other posts I did agree with you based on one disc you are correct. I have facts which back up my opinion, you do not have any that go agaist mine. Your example is based on one disc and not even taking into account that you would still have to pay shipping with Amazon (which closes the gap in price difference). I am just making a point that there are two sides and that your opinion costs someone more money and mine does not. Plus you are talking about a $23.95 title so the additional cost to buy two more to get over the $50 for free shipping, so yes this is a larger additional cost to make the per price cheaper per Blu-ray. However we are talking about a $47 title and the additional expense of one additional $15 title would make a bigger impact on out of pocket additional expenses over and above what you were planning to spend to get the cost savings benefit. Simple as that...and that remark is not condescending. Anyways when it is all said and done if you wish to purchase more than one movie from WB it WILL be cheaper than with Amazon. Which again you have not provided any facts supporting that Amazon is cheaper in this situation.

A fellow addict! The only thing I need now to send me into bankrupcy is for Disney and Fox to make the same offer.

Dude, you're entitled to spend your money however you want. Most of us however try to maximize what we can get (both quantity and quality) for our dollars. I think folks were just trying to let you know you may have been misunderstanding this deal. Amazon's a great place to buy Blu-ray movies, I constantly have orders pending there when the price is right (which it very frequently is). So enjoy the movies you get from Amazon; they'll look everybit as good as the ones other folks get directly from Warners.

It's all good.

No, I don't pay shipping. That's the problem you assume and speculate. At least at Amazon when I purchase I can purchase music and books at the same time and not limited to just Warner Brothers movies. So, again: I will wait till it's on Amazon.

But like you said: it's all good.
I will just be sure not to mention anything like that again.

Actually you were the one making assuptions on your posts, you are assuming people have Amazon Prime, if they do not then there is not a big difference in cost benefit for a single disc. With multiple discs totalling over $50, then WB is cheaper.

I didn't know that pointing out another view was insulting, I'm sure no one in this forum would agree that my "You're not looking at the bigger picture" as any way shape or form as insulting...

When you are narrowing in on a single idea and trying to make an argument based on that narrow view, you are limiting the options available, and based on expanding that view the per disc cost base would be a better deal than Amazon, that is all.
