That's gonna be one hell of a set up!! Your un-boxing is getting me exited because I will be doing the same thing in a few days hopefully.

The Kef XQ40 was on my final list of speakers.......but ended up going with a different brand. I did the opposite of of you. I got the towers 1st and will wait to get the center channel.

Side by side comparison of your new center compared to the old one is tremendous!! Congrats and enjoy your new purchase!

I've had a couple of the large Paradigm centers before and loved them, I'm actually thinking of getting another one shortly. Lets us know how it sounds compared to the two smaller centers.

I went with the center first because I think that was my weakest member of my speaker family! I feel like a little kid again with a new toy!
What towers are you gonna get??

Thanks for compliment. My system is not where I want it to be at this moment but in due time, I will get there. we are looking at buying a new house soon so I hope to have a dedicated room and thats when the fun begins.

On the GF not, that is what she is right now, your GF lol. When they become the MRS, it becomes a different story lol. My wife is very understanding and I cant complain at all. Hometheater is just one of my expensive hobbies and she supports me in all of them, but she feel there is a limit, which I can understand. I just went to vegas in june for a week with the guys. You dont even know what I spent out there, but lets say I could do some HT upgrades with the money I spent. Shes not against big ticket purchases, I just make too many lol Its all about having a happy medium for me.

ha,ha

It's all setup in my ht room now and were watching Prince of Persia for about 1 hour. It already sounds sweet and i think it blends in very well with the IQ90! Its a very detailed sound and very clear!
I have not done any calibration yet. I will do that today!!

I ended up going with the Focal 1038be. Same finish as yours (in front) but with greyish/brown finish on the side.

Looking good!!! That thing looks tremendous. I can wait to see it sitting next to its reference 204/2 towers! You are building one hell of a theater my man. I'm jealous!

Looks much better on the stand.

However I'm OCD on anything relating to system intergration and I see a possible issue with the center channel. I'm sure you are getting some bounce (reflections) off of the sides of the Ultras. So I would think, while it is an impressive CC, you might be hindering some of it's performance. Have you thought of moving the center forward so that the baffle of the CC sits just proud of the subwoofers?
