My current lamp has over 3400 hours on it. So I thought it time to order a new one. Ordered it Sunday night and with free FedEx shipping it arrived today. Not bad.
I ended up ordering from Pureland Supply. It's an OEM bulb in their own housing. A few other members here have ordered from them as well. Comes with a 6 month warranty and saved me about $150. ![]() |

Finally got motivated and installed my new lamp tonight. While doing it, I decided to wipe the "prism" and clean the filter. Well, it's been a few years since I cleaned the filter. It needed it. But it's all clean now and ready to rock. Will power it on after the kids are in bed.

I own a BenQ W1080ST. Couldn't afford at the moment to spring for a replacement directly from BenQ which is $250. Purchased a replacement lamp with housing on Amazon.com instead from a Prime seller for $100 using the next day shipping option. Could have purchased just the lamp for $75. It's easy to replace just the lamp, but the housing got damaged when the lamp shattered. Well, the clear glass piece that sits in the housing has two large nicks in it now. UPS delivered my order a few hours ago. No issues so far. It's working great. We'll see as time goes on. My original lamp had 3,632 hours on it.

I was very surprised when my lamp went like that. Didn't notice any significant drop in brightness, even after 3,600 plus hours. Was very pleased with the performance of the lamp. Well, up until it blew up on me. :-p Owned a few different model InFocus projectors over the years prior to the BenQ. Have had lamps go on me before, but never like this. They'd just peter out without any fanfare. :-) Thankfully my BenQ wasn't damaged in some way as a result. It's running beautifully this evening and the picture is outstanding.

I'm also debating a lamp change soon, about 3400 hours (eco mode) because I've been noticing arcing/flickering. It's the first lamp and is about 3.5 yrs old
Was looking at purelandsupply.com too. LMP-H202 to in my VPL-HW40ES But one reviewer on the site said " The lamp connector did not fit my projector. Had to remove the old lamp connector and put it on the new lamp. " ![]() |

Don't forget that if you always run in eco mode, the flickering may be due to the residue that accumulates over time over the filament. Try running the projector in high-power mode for 2 or 3 hours to see if the flickering disappears. You may not have to change the bulb yet.

Sony projectors in recent years have MAJOR flickering issues when running in LOW setting, it's been widely reported across most of their lower-end range for years now. I have a VPLHW50ES which also uses the LMP-H202 and it flickers like crazy for weeks at a time. Switching to HIGH setting and keeping it there for half an hour or more then switching back to LOW can give you a few hours without flicker, but that flicker will return.
My first lamp (the one that came with the projector) flickered periodically on LOW for pretty much the entire life of the bulb (about 3500hrs before I changed it). My 2nd bulb (and OEM Philips) has flickered to he same extent for about 2000hrs and to a much lesser extent for another 2000hrs, still going strong with the rare flicker fit every now and then. I've read reports of the exact same issues with the 40ES, 45ES and 65ES. BTW If you're not already aware of this issue, I've also read reports that all these models have severe contrast degradaton after a few hundred hours of use. Something to do with all SXRD panels essentially having a built-in obsolescence. Sony have known about this for at least two years and continue to produce projectors that, in essence, only going to perform at 100% for just a few hundred hours. This apparently affects ALL SXRD projectors. Could you imagine spending $30,000 on a projector to see the contrast nosedive within a year? **** me! Last edited by Shingster; 08-30-2018 at 11:39 PM. |

I'm looking for a replacement lamp for my Panasonic PT-AE3000U.
The last replacement I bought from ProjectorLampSource.ca for about $200 CDN. Amazon.ca seems to have one for $50.00. Anyone had experience with buying a Gzwog lamp from Amazon? Reviews are pretty good. |
