Classic. Few months ago this exact situation happened.
Girl I was seeing casually wanted to watch a movie after sex. Late sunday afternoon I say with a sincere and endearing tone "pick a movie. I'll watch whichever blu-ray you want to watch. Anything". 3 minutes later I hear "these are all guy movies.... I reply "well yeah, it's all my favourites from growing up I watch these with my brother when he's over". She was over generalising, forest gump and a dozen other dramas were in there that have crossover appeal. Anywho :P She eventually said unanimously Pulp Fiction ------------ The moral of the story is a good women doesn't need a "chick flick" to watch with a guy. She needs gender neutrality! A strong sense of woman in the picture. Pulp fiction has specks of romance and depicts marriages and flirting and talks about relationships - and has humor (girls love to laugh). This threads asks for "chick flicks" but really the suggestions, that apply to BOTH genders liking a movie, is the BETTER intent. Hence why for me Pulp Fuction was a winner, and so would Kill Bill be unless your woman 'hates' gore. In which case I think you are with a boring girly girl and sucks to be you heh. One I don't see mentioned yet is In Her Shoes with Cameron Diaz. It's based on a "chick-lit" novel with an intelligent script, believable characters/situations, great acting and a genuinely adult point of view. Not formulaic dreck like 90% of the romcoms these days, most of which seem like they're written more for 13 year-old girls than women.
Anyway, as a straight male who mostly watches action and sci-fi I found myself genuinely enjoying it. ![]() |
