USA Jurassic Park Trilogy SteelBook™ (Best Buy Exclusive)

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Juras...Blu-ray/24949/

It appears to be the same G1 release that Canada is getting.

Well, that was perfect timing. I cancelled my UK tin preorder last night. It looks like my G1 Green Lantern steelbook will have some company soon!

Since they are including DVD's with this, does that mean it will be one of those thick steelbooks with the awkward foldout plastic like Up and Monsters, Inc were? Or can a G1 hold six discs and keep its normal dimensions?

I hope it's not a plastic jumbo like the LOTR one.

JESUS HELL another G1 release? Fast Five was enough, I can't keep supporting these DVD sized things.

The banner on the image on the website is the same as the one that has been on other Universal Studios Best Buy Exclusives, and it clearly says BLU-RAY + DVD + DIGITAL COPY across the top. That means flipper discs, people.

I don't see any mention of it being a Steelbook

I hate flippers but Universal usually issues plain silver discs anyway, so I guess it wouldn't be that big of a deal in this case.

I understand that this is going to give you exclusive packaging and DVD versions/flippers, but it's also another $20.

Is there anyway to determine if these are, in fact, flipper discs? Is there some kind of terminology on the packaging itself that you can look for?

Also, has there been any official pictures of what the discs themselves will look like? I've seen some shots, and they appear to be black, nice and elegant looking ...

... if this is the case, then I don't think I'll be getting the SteelBook, as much as it pains me not to do so.

The Cons overweight the Pros for this, unfortunately:

-G1 sized
-No artwork on the back of the steelbook but blackness (Missed opportunity Universal)
-No inside artwork (at all!)
-Eco friendly disc holders

The only Pro would be the Jurassic Park logo in the front is embossed. Yet that doesn't warrant spending 60 bucks IMHO.

The German Steelook/UK Tin is the best way to go.

...you forgot the biggest pros.

1. It's a steelbook
2. It's Jurassic Park

Or are these irrelevant points now replaced with size and color?

Well, I would count on the G1 having a more slender profile a pro actually since Im slowly running out of shelf real estate due to fat cases being relative space hogs.

the height isnt too intrusive, at least to me.

I had it in my hand. Noticed the front seemed a little flimsy. Pushed it in. yep. Put it right back. Very cheap work.

There were only 3 copies when I got to my local BB at about 10:30am or so! It's suck that you can't check for dents with the paper on the back! Lucky me, I got a steel with a dent on the back top right! I guess, I'll keep the paper on the back somehow...

[Show spoiler]

I hope my UK tin doesn't come with dents, too!
