Obviously the 1980s spawned the worst movies, music, fashion trends, women's hair-do's, etc.
The 2000s are probably the second worst.

2000 was the decade I really got into watching films there is a lot of great films in 2000's but there was an equal or greater amount of horrible films in the 2000's.

Born in 1987.

80s were the worst in my opinion. There were many great films but there was also a lot of crap.

1985 here, I voted for the 1980s, although 2000-2009 is pretty damn bad as well, followed even more closely by 1990-1999.

For the hell of it, I went and watched all 83 Best Picture winners, rated them on a scale of one to ten, and then did the averages for each decade:

1920s - 4.5/10 (I know this is an unfair average, because there's only 2 films, and I couldn't appreciate them with my New Millenium mindset (haven't watched Sunset, which I need to do, because more people count it alongside Wings than not, so that average can improve))

1930s - 6.6/10 (1930s wasn't a horrible decade, there were better pictures out there that didn't win Best Picture)

1940s - 7.9/10 (Again, a few better non-Best Picture winning films out there)

1950s - 8.2/10 (May look like I favour the 1950s, but the 1960s are my favourite decade)

1960s - 8.0/10 (I enjoyed some of the BPW a lot, but I enjoyed some of the other nominees a heck of a lot more)

1970s - 7.9/10 (Again, a few better non-Best Picture winning films out there, Going to get shot for this, but Rocky didn't deserve BP, Network, All the President's Men or even Taxi Driver did. Also thought Chinatown was better than The Godfather Part II)

1980s - 5.7/10 (The 80s were a rather poor decade of BPWs, and there's few films from this decade in general that I enjoy, other than the big blockbusters like Indy, BttF, and Episodes V and VI)

1990s - 6.2/10 (1990s had some decent films, they just didn't win Best Picture. This is also skewed because I loathe Forrest Gump)

2000s - 7.4/10 (Better Best Picture Winners than 1990s, but there's still a ton of dreck out there)

2010s - 10/10 (Yes, I realise this is just one bloody film, the decade just started)

Any before the 70s, let's face it.

Anyone who seriously voted 80s needs a good kicking.

1993

This is tough. Probably a tie between the 80s and the aughts. They're still great though.

1990, voting for 2000-2009. There's some good stuff, but overall it's the most inconsistent for me.

Man reading all of the posts that said the 80's is the worst is giving me anxiety! HOW THE F*** can any movie fan actually believe that!

They may not all be Oscar winners, but SO many fun classics were released in the 80's!

Also, born 1979

I doubt most people will remember this 2000-2009 decade with much fondness, guess I've mentioned that before.
