Plus, the product consumers have been seeing on screen, for the X360, has been at a MUCH higher resolution (or just pre-rendered CGI) than the actual game. ![]() |

Indeed. The xbox360 is cheaper for example, which is a pro. Well unless you want to play online, which not everybody does so you have to give credit to the xbox360 for having that advantage for those that don't play online.

I actually think that Sony played their card very well on the price (and it shows already on the Amazon best sellers). Yes for $199 you have a bare bone Xbox 360 with 4Gb, but for $249 you have a 160Gb PS3 which naturally includes free onlline and a Blu-Ray player. The competing offers are at $299 (4Gb 360 with -ugh- Kinect), and then we jump to $399 for the 360 bundles whereas the Uncharted PS3 bundle is at $299. The stores I've seen (including Toy's R Us) aren't even really interested in promoting the 4Gb bare bone alone, they advertise the 4Gb + kinect vs the PS3 (then $50 more expensive), and the Uncharted Ps3 bundle vs the 360 bundles ($100 more expensive). |

I fully agree, just if you want to play MS's marketing game then the 360 is the least expensive unit to actually play games (granted some games are gimped without a hard drive but that is the beauty of offering a ridiculously over priced proprietary MS HDD) . That said, the best value is PS3 by a landslide.

Nope. Make a list of features from both consoles. You will see the PS3 has a much long list of features. It's not an opinion. It's a fact. Example: most people don't know that the PS3 can view 4 or 5 different picture formats and the X360 can only view .jpg. Then, there is native 1080p XMB vs. 720p dashboard. Controller response when in XMB/dashboard is around twice as fast on the PS3. BD 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, and 3D compliance. 7 controllers via Bluetooth 2.0 vs. 4 controllers via RF. Dolby Digital +, TrueHD, DTS-HD, DTS-HD MA is not even present on the X360. 48GB/s system bandwidth in PS3 vs. 22GB/s in the X360. Streaming capability from the HDD and BD drive simultaneously vs. streaming from one or the other. More media playing options (more granular controls). Self contained (no PC needed) media recording options WHILE playing a game.
The list goes on and on. These things are facts and not opinions. The opinions come in when you start trying to decide which is more important. I'm not getting into that bit. It's just the facts. I could make a list of both consoles' features. I am very familiar with them. ![]() Quote:
