Hope to hear something soon! We're only talking a little over a month and Amazon doesn't even have a placeholder for it yet!

While doing a search I did spot this puppy:

How come we don't get great stuff like this in the US? Is there some sort of legislation that prohibits the wide release of steelbooks/gift editions? Gheeesh!

thanks preordered..cant believe the 3D version comes with this,as much as i love my 2disc with slip of the 1st movie and 2disc walmart exclusive with the imax scenes i might have to sell those as i wont need them after this set

Man... that thing is FUGLY! I was hoping maybe to replace my 2 amarays and 1 steelbook cases with a single, nicely slimmed packaging, steelbok package. This thing will take up WAY TOO MUCH real estate for my collection...

HUGE pass for this collector.

Pic makes it look like "metal-like" cardboard

Got it pre-ordered anyway, but if it turns out to be just cardboard I may pass.

If those photos that came out a few weeks ago are true, looks like metal.

I'd say that going by those photos, that it has to be cardboard. If it were any sort of metal, there would have to be hinges on it. That just seems to have that glossy paper with a metal look to it.

It seems like they could have put a little bit more thought into it. Maybe make it look like the Cube from the first movie. Or the Matrix of Leadership like was shown in the last two movies. Or just a big box shaped like Optimus with his trailer.

It certainly looks like it's metal! Plus they could use clasp hinges, which are fairly hidden.
I preordered both, and will decide which route I go in a couple weeks! I'm a big fan of UCE's so I'll probably lean in that direction.
