I find this very unlikely because the whole point of having a blank SteelBook is so that it can be customized with stickers for different movies.

With a printed quote, that would mean that it is no longer customizable and you might as well do a regular print run because you won't be able to reuse those SteelBooks for any other movie anyway.

I can understand the blu-ray logo being printed, but not the back quotation.

I am somewhat skeptical that this is a Stickerbook after all, unless someone has definitively seen it.

dont get confused that this may be a real steelbook, it is easy to tell this is a stickerbook from the pics, the front art doesent line up on all sides for a start.

its closer to the edge on the left than the right lol, and theres a big shiny steel edge just like source code. i think people are deluding themselves thinking this is anything but a stickerbook. and it looks like the UK version has sold out now because of this i would imagine.

I don't think that's the issue - they just look a bit... cheap. Or at least, that's the impression I got from holding the two we've had in UK retail stores.

It's mostly down to the fact that you can tell there's a blank silver case underneath - a bit like you made the cover and stuck it on yourself.

To all the HMV-bashers: please stop defending buying this Steel cuz you are mad you were too late for the HMV one. It's stickery, has the spine-title upside down and the front looks like a poster with all sorts of unecessary logos.

Good point about the spine, I hate upside down spines

And if you look at the high res pic on the previous page, you can see clearly that the front art is a laminated sticker where the light hits it, the texture is nothing like the steel, it looks just like the front of the Source Code StickerBook I got.

It has been 100% confirmed from hidef forum that it is NOT a stickerbook. It is a printed artwork inside and outside.

I hate sounding like a jerk, but how did they confirm it? Did they post any new pictures or a video? Because that one that was posted here looks like a stickerbook, you can see the edges of the laminated sticker and the bare steel around the edges.

Maybe someone can post some more detailed pics here to put this to rest?

im a member over there and seeing the original pics, im still not convinced about this being a printed steelbook. im going to reserve judgement but im still thinking stickerbook myself. those pics look nothing like printed.

I'm with you, I still think this is a stickerbook.


It looks just like a stickerbook, the texture hilighted by the light reflection is nothing like the texture of the steel. And why does the art end at right angles rather than continue to the edge of the steel which you can see all around the edges.

And don't let the printed Blu banner fool you, it's not the first time a stickerbook has had a printed banner and sticker art....



EDIT: Dont get me wrong, I really wan't this to be a steelbook, but I have too many doubts to place a pre order. So when it's out and everyone has it to confirm then I'll order one to sit next to my HMV copy.
