Final Destination 5
Frankenweenie (tongue in cheek horror)
Night of the Living Dead: Reanimation
Paranorman (again, tongue in cheek horror)
Saw: The Final Chapter
Silent Hill: Revelation
Texas Chainsaw
Bait
The Hole (More aimed at youths but still a light horror)
My Bloody Valentine
Piranha
Piranha 3DD
Underworld Awakening
Fright Night
Prometheus
The Creature From the Black Lagoon

Which have I forgotten? What upcoming releases have we got to look forward to? I think horror is a great genre for 3D and would love to see more 3D horror movies
Friday the 13th, Part 3D has an anaglyph 3D version in the package.

Amityville 3D will be coming out later this year as part of an Amityvile box set from Scream Factory.

Sector 7 is another one... first Korean 3D horror film (I think).

Really good modern monster movie.

I would love to see the exorcist in 3d. That would be the ultimate horror.

Same here, my Netflix Que is overwhelmingly horror tinted. Growing up I developed a taste for horror movies by watching Shock Theater. The Universal Monsters made a big impression on little ole me.

By the way, is that Amityville 3D movie any good? How is the depth and pop-outs?

Amityville 3D is a pretty bad movie overall... it's PG (not PG-13, PG) and really light on proper scares. Cliche and kinda goofy. Pretty bad special effects even for the time. But it's a proper 80s 3D flick where the extra dimension really was just a gimmick and they exploited the hell out of it, so it's actually pretty fun even in the low-quality field sequential bootleg DVD I've got of it. Lots of stuff flying out of the screen... flies, glass, pipes, magnifying glasses, flashlights, an old lady's spit, ghostly clouds of spookyness, frisbees, demonic fire breath, a stuffed marlin... none of those are a joke.

As to the list, it's missing A Haunting in Salem but that's probably not worth it. Native 3D, but composed just like any old no-budget 2D movie so it really doesn't take advantage of it. Not very good from just a film perspective either.

My Bloody Valentine is kind of disappointing. As a whole the 3D is good, during the scenes that you expected the pop out effect feel flat.

Also the Haunting in Salem, and Shock Labyrinth come to mind as well as Tormented. I cannot however comment on the quality as they are in line to be watched.

Salem was a blind buy for me but I promptly sold it after watching it. Movie is typical and the 3D was not good.

Priest 3D (vampires),
Monster House 3D (horror theme).
And a number of low budget 3D movies, like Blood of Ohma 3D, about Big Foot.

If they made it strong 3D along the lines of Jurassic Park, that would be awesome IMO. Along with the original TCM from the 70's, and Salem's Lot, Pet Sematary, etc.

I'll have to take another look at the pop outs. I thought they worked well along with the strong 3D.

There's a new one just came out at Best Buy. Can't think of the name but it's a sequel to the Grudge and costs 14.99.

All the reviews I've seen say it's pretty awful, including the Blu-ray.com review.

Also, so you know what to expect; it's not a sequel to The Grudge, it's part of the Japanese Ring (Ringu) series that inspired The Ring. Though apparently it's not very connected to the previous films.

What is the word on the new Friday the 13th box set and the 3D of part 3? It will probably be a reissue of the crap heap we already have but the box set pictures are absent of red&blue glasses and any mention of what kind of 3D it will be.

I'm still waiting to hear an OFFICIAL confirmation from Warner whether it will be a 3D Blu or not. Seems like they could have made this announcement already. Maybe they will surprise us with good news that we all want to hear: a 3D Blu version!!!

Put down Apartment 1303 as one to avoid. Awful film, awful 3D. Mostly native but in the worst way, with retinal rivalry everywhere to the extent that walls are completely different colors between eyes. Titles and CG elements are routinely rendered in at the wrong places, intersecting impossibly with objects in 3D space. Some shots appear to be inverted. Several shots are obviously (and terribly) converted from 2D - not only are things layered wrong, but it's clear they were only using a couple depth maps or depth map templates per scene, changing them out when major movement occurs - you can see objects shift instantly and unnaturally in depth when they do this. Almost all the 3D is so shallow it's hardly noticeable anyway, and the framing is exactly like any other no-budget 2D flick - no attempt whatsoever to make actual use of the format. Utterly worthless.

The film itself was terrible too... easily the worst Asian horror remake of them all, which is saying something considering the competition. Incoherent, essentially no story, no scares, and almost all the acting is completely terrible. The original wasn't great, but it looks like a masterpiece of terror and smart storytelling in comparison. They changed a lot here but none of it was for the better. Even the awful original ending has been replaced by one that's somehow worse.

It's not worth any price.
