The cuts only affect the UK release.

Glad I saw this topic. I was about to order it from amazon.co.uk! Is the US version (uncut I assume?) region free?

Thanks

Every other market OTHER THAN THE UK release will have the 18 seconds included. Don't be mislead by the marketing of the UK version saying it is uncut. The reason they say that is that the film remains uncut from its UK theatrical, which itself was cut the 18 seconds prior to showing.

UK = Uncut theatrical missing 18 seconds

EVERYWHERE ELSE = Uncut theatrical including said 18 seconds

ALL WB RELEASES ARE REGION UNRESTRICTED!

Is this worth a blind buy? $22.99 for the 3d version seems like a decent price. I tend to like epic movies like this - 300, Troy, Braveheart, Gladiator, the Last Samurai, Conan the Barbarian(1984), LOTR, and yes even Conan the Barbarian 2011 and 10,000 BC. However I tried to watch Clash of the Titans(2010) on uverse but only a few minutes in and I just couldn't get into it. In your opinion how does Immortals compare to the movies I mentioned above?

I'm in the same boat. For that price I'm very much considering the blind buy!

Bad acting. Probably hired out of work porn actors to save money.

Shitty greenscreen CGI - Constant black halo around actors and objects in front of CGI background.

Sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow..... nothing happens for most of the movie.

Horrible script.... cheesy lines... etc.

If you're expecting anything like 300, this ain't it.

Can anyone that knows were the cuts were made please tell us the exact minute and second (from the uncut version) so we can see if the cuts are so important.
I heard about this today and my SteelBook 3D is on its way. I want to know if i will be forced to return it and get the US one.

Thank you.

I'm guessing Fox hasn't shipped out the full product early for review. I watched it during the weekend though. Terrific PQ/AQ.

Can't wait to pick up the 2D version. I think a lot of you are going to be disappointed with the 3D version.

Why would someone be disappointed with buying the 3D version when they will be getting the 2D AND 3D version of the film?

While I'd normally agree with you, it's mainly because the post-conversion is complete crap for this movie. Also, I think the 2D version has the better cover.

Ahh...I didn't know you were taking covers into consideration. Still, some may be satisfied with the post-conversion though. Plus they will have the 2D version to fall back on if they choose to....seems like a win-win for just a few extra $$$

You're right; I think I might be cover prejudice lol. I'm a slipcover nut lol. If the 3D cover was switched with the 2D cover, I'd probably get it too, just because yeah it is only a couple bucks more. Wish the conversion was better though.

The script of Immortals isn't as good as Braveheart, Gladiator or Last Samurai. It doesn't focus on the story as much. The focus is mostly on the action and style. There is quite a bit of excellent action in particular the final battle was awesome! I'd say script wise it's most like Conan the barbarian 2011 with the focus mostly on action (although not quite as much action) and the style is most like 300.

Everyone I know thats seen it, loved it. I'm never impressed with audio in the theater but I was when I watched Immortals. So I can't wait to hear this blu ray. I'm picking it up tomorrow for sure!

I actually liked it more than 300! It's definitely worthy of a blind buy. The action scenes are badass, especially when
[Show spoiler]the Gods come down to fight the Titans!

That scene was awesome...I'm excited to watch this again. I'll be picking it up after work tomorrow.
