Good news everybody. The flipper disc is just for Harold and Kumar movie.

Proof:

J. Edgar is the next Warner movie out after Harold and Kumar and will include 1 BD disc and 1 DVD disc. No flipper. How do I know?

http://www.wbshop.com/J-Edgar-Bluray...,pd.html?cgid=

Visit the above link. It is the link to J. Edgar on wbshop.com.

Scroll down to Full Product description and read what it says for Packaging Type.

You're all welcome BTW

Good to hear. But I don't anticipate Harold and Kumar to be the only WB flipper we get.

Here is a very important question....

WHO WOULD BOTHER USING THE DVD SIDE OF THE DISC?

With separated BD and DVD discs, "travel" and "kids room" DVD collections can be placed in binders and other forms of space saving storage options. Now, collectors will be forced to drag their valuable Blu-rays along for family trips and let their kids handle their Blu-ray discs.

As much as I understand the travelling and kid friendly notion of including DVDs, I have no need for DVDs anyways. I always give the DVDs away. Now, I'm stuck with it AND IT IS EATING INTO THE SPACE AVAILABLE ON THE DISC WHICH SHOULD BE DESIGNATED FOR HIGHER QUALITY TRANSFERS!!!

Bull. one side is a dual layer dvd and on the other side is a 50 gig blu ray disc. gone is the days when you only had to use single layer discs for flippers

Hate hate hate flipper discs. There is nothing more frustrating than paying good money for a disc and having it freeze mid-movie, something that has happened all too often with a very high percentage of flipper discs I have ever purchased.
+1
This is so true. Not only are they ugly but they don't freaking WORK!!!! I had to take back Hanna because I grabbed the flipper by mistake. Sure enough it started skipping mid movie

Flipper discs do prevent a buyer from selling the DVD in the combo pack they purchased.

If this turns out to be true, I will no longer be purchasing any new release from Warner. I kept to my word with HD DVD flippers, and I've kept to my word with all flipper releases on Blu up to this point.

Never said you weren't but everyone is taking this as if it's official information and is going to be the end of the world as we know it. I would have no problem if it was peaceful and civil but as of now it's absolute chaos and any thread involving discussion of flipper discs goes the same way. No hard feelings meant I'm just trying to say relax due to no official word and it only being one release.

I wonder when studios will realize that Blu-ray is the future and just abandon the notion of DVD altogether?

I have already given a proof that WB will not be going in the route to flipper for all upcoming releases. Previous proof was J. Edgar.

Here is another one.

HAPPY FEET TWO 3D:

http://www.wbshop.com/Happy-Feet-Two...,pd.html?cgid=

Under product description it says packaging type: O-Sleeve 3-disc Elite BD Case

http://www.wbshop.com/Happy-Feet-Two...,pd.html?cgid=

This link is for non 3D combo pack and under product description it says packaging type double BD case.

I wonder that New Line Cinema had something to do with Harold and Kumar being flipper.

When people realize that Blu-ray is the future and abandon DVD?

Gross.

Only way to get these idiots to switch is to release new releases ONLY on Blu-ray... which will mean much lower studio revenues for a couple of years as people begrudgingly hop aboard the bandwagon they're now being forced onto.

as for reliability, except for a few issues with HD DVD in it's early stages (that were fixed later on) I've NEVER had a flipper blu or flipper dvd crap out on me. I put them in my player and they play fine, I put them back in the case afterwards and they dont' scratch. seriously, flippers, slip covers, digital copies ... people on here can get so OCD on here I wonder if I'm actually on a site that discusses MOVIES and not just a packaging site.
My problem with flipper discs is not that it's two-sided. My problem is that you don't have a normal label on the disc.
