I think it might be worth it to mention you're considering importing if they keep holding back titles (even if you aren't). Nothing lights Disney's fire like the fear of losing a sale!
Submitted. I already own the JP release of Arrietty but may have to double dip on the US release.

Thanks everyone, I know it's a longshot, but we might as well try! I'd start a letter writing campaign if I knew where to send them.

Just to clarify, the "North American" version being reported on is the Japanese re-release, but it will probably be the same disc we get here.

Yes, remember they are saying the new Japanese disc will include both dubs, but nothing about the upcoming US disc. Also, I'd think the US disc will have extras as well (Behind the Microphone, etc) so don't expect the same disc.

Sorry for the confusion! Hopefully the Disney released in the US does have the British dub as I'd definitely like to check it out!

My understanding is that Disney is not the distributor in the UK, and that the distributor there paid for the UK dub. I've also heard it's not very good. I am intrigued, but not expecting it to be included.

Excellent, I hope they announce a release date soon! I wonder if there will be an Amazon/DMR coupon for this? Typically the Amazon ones become available a few weeks after a title is up for pre-order, so I'll wait for the time being.

Is it a bad sign that no catalog titles have been listed yet, if we even had a chance of getting anything alongside Arrietty? Hoping something comes up on Amazon while we are still far enough away from Arrietty's release for it to be a possibility.

I search for "Castle in the Sky," "Howl's Moving Castle," etc. on a regular basis to see if anything is added beyond a placeholder page.

Honestly, I just don't see Disney release more than 1 (maybe 2) of these a year. Not only do they have to wait for the Japan blu-rays to be in release for a years, before they can release there own - Ghilbi is a very lucratic property for them and they are bound to squeeze every penny out of the franchise.

If you leave near DC, there will be a Ghibli film marathon on April 14th as part of the Cherry Blossom Festival. If you've ever wanted to see Princess Mononoke on the big screen...

I didn't get to see this in theaters, but would be tempted to preorder if there was a coupon. I also love how the are keeping the cover design consistent. It looks really nice and I love the Ponyo Blu. Hopefully some of the catalogue titles get released soon. Porco Rosso!

What they need to put out is Totoro. That is the pinnacle of Ghibli movies.

I'll definitely be getting this, but I won't be in too much of hurry to get this since I already own the Japanese Blu-ray. I'm hoping the price will come down a little.

Yesss...Totoro would be awesome in Blu, but at this stage, I'm willing to even settle for ANY Ghibli title on BD

We better get at least one single catalog Ghibli released alongside TSWoA, or Disney has completely abandoned the Ghibli catalog on BD. The odds are much closer to 50/50 than people would like to admit.

I thought that the odds were 75/25 against to begin with...
