All 18 seasons and both movies!.
If only Cartoon Network would follow this model with Adventure Time! It's a native HD SHOW!

All derailing aside, not sure how good a nearly two decade old show would look on Blu-ray, but at least do a DVD and I will purchase if bundled well, and I mean complete season sets.

Again, I, um, think that's what they're planning to do:
The headlines said Shout secured the rights to do Blu-ray and DVD--As in, they could also do a Blu-ray of MMPR: The Movie if it was included in the deal (we don't know).

IOW, they got the rights to say they COULD do Blu if it was possible, but it's....not really possible for the TV series.
Still, a few series boxsets would be a most efficient DVD re-release.

The first 3 seasons are the weakest. People are just going by nostalgia by saying the first 3 are best.

Power Rangers is the longest running childrens show in tv history. There is even a convention for it in LA.

I have seen some videos of that series on the web--it is quite a culture shock.

"Rita Repulsa" (here The Witch Bandora) rides a flying bicycle into Japan...

Zyuranger wasn't too good, only thing good was the Dragon Ranger arc (aka Green Ranger saga).

Wow, 700 episodes. This reminds me, is there any blu-ray release for Robotech: The Macross Saga?

Do we expect that the MMPR episodes will have all those horrible added effects and graphics that got added into the recent re-airings? That would probably kill this for me.

I agree, but hey, I will buy up to the Zeo Rangers season. That would be enough for me.

I doubt it. Saban bought the property back from Disney and I'd assume Shout! would release his version.

I just love how fast rumors spread. While there is no doubt that the series will be be released on DVD, there is no indication that it will be released on Blu-ray. Most of the time, these programs produced for children rarely make their way to Blu-ray.

Not even Gord Lacey and Dave Lambert's articles say that. The only thing that they mention is that it'll be released on media and the mention is ambiguous at that. These type of announcements have been made before and it's often taken years before they're released.

Cool. Looking forward to the releases then.

Even so, it'll be cool to have these released on DVD. I would have killed for season releases when I was a kid. Shout does really good releases and I'm looking forward to a nostalgia blast whether it's in SD or HD.

And Yellow Ranger is a guy.
(Over here, of course, we can't have only one girl member as Pink Ranger, that would be sending the wrong message to kids... )

And Green Ranger (or whoever that "temporary" member was) was supposed to die at the end of the first season.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that it's finally coming to DVD but I think that Saban Entertainment has already lost. Power Rangers should have been released a long time ago on DVD and I think they have loong missed that boat.

Now? Being released to DVD when Blu-ray is already saturating the market, I think that they missed the opportunity to make money from any DVD boxed sets. The original Power Rangers series has been one of the most requested series to DVD ever since fans started asking for them. Where the other shows are concerned? I doubt they'll get much reception because they're simply pale imitations of the original team.

While I'll probably buy the earlier three seasons, I don't have any interest in the other incarnations of the team. Season 4 is where the series changed with a new lineup.

No. Those added "effects" were done as a one time thing when Disney was running the franchise. It sickened Saban so much he bought it back from them and now started a new series.

Only Mighty Morphin and its first movie were truly good in my opinion.
