N.B.:

It's worth noting that if the specs are correct, the US edition will be different from the UK, French and German editions (which themselves may have different, unique extras), and may have different encoding.

I own the Dutch steelbook (uncut) from 2010 (AVC encode). I'm wondering if there's any difference with this new edition, aside from the extras, since the Dutch steelbook encode was already excellent PQ...

It's amazingly nonsense. I think my favorite (least-favorite) one so far might be the The Great Mouse Detective: Mystery in the Mist Edition

i got the first release on an amazon haul a year ago...quality sucked, but was an excellent film, as i had never seen it. recently did my sisters final paper for a college sociology course because she agreed to buy me this and taxi driver if i got a good grade for her, which i did

On Amazon.ca they have both versions and this "Ultimate Rekall" version is sold in the UK, Germany, and elsewhere as far as I can see around the net.

Look how helpful they are at Alliance. If you are French-Canadian, you obviously would never understand what "Ultimate Rekall Edition" means, so in the much smaller font that apparently all French-Canadians can read perfectly--even at a distance--they have printed the strikingly different French text "Total Recall -- Édition Ultime Rekall". Now you don't have to wander around the store searching aimlessly for a movie with a completely incomprehensible title (as the French must do) and end up bursting into tears in the middle of the store.

I know French Canada has language equality rules, but the whole bilingual title nonsense in ridiculous, and in a way, infantilizing and offensive to French-Canadians. You print the title in their language, but so small that it can only be a visual eyesore?
