I have not seen Prometheus. Are there even aliens in it? All the promos I've seen do not even hint that the films are related.

Well said! I've been my own critic for many years now, and it's worked out much more than it has not.

Some punctuation would make that less painful to read.

Well, from what I read there could be 2 more movies.. 1 alien and the other, something else. What the something else I don't know. It's paraphrasing what Ridley Scott said in an interview.

It's a shell, full of sound and fury, But nothing else.

Doesn't matter how they package it, lipstick won't help.

But again, the problem is when people say just that... if the story doesn't work, the visual look neat. That's exactly WHY we have so many bad movies these days... people are content with awful stories as long as they look "pretty". When junk like that makes money, it just opens the door for 5 more like it.
Prometheus isn't exactly Transformers. Even if everything didn't work, you can't say it was just a mindless VFX showcase. The script was actually more ambitious than necessary for what this movie is (a sci-fi slasher flick). Not sure how anybody could be let down by the visuals in this, though.

The native 3D was disappointing. Pop-out isn't necessary but the depth of the film inwards was so subtle at times, I forgot I was watching (and paid an extra $4.00 for) 3D. I could have seen it in 2D and been just as happy. And I'm a 3D fan.

I actually forgot it was in 3D about 2/3 of the way through as well. Though, to me that is because the format was naturally enveloping rather than "in your face" shots. I actually am fine with the obvious shots if it still works, but that wasn't really in this film. I really liked the 3D in this one.

I think I will buy this in 3D, but I wasn't blown away with the film. I will probably wait for it to go on sale.

so I've heard mixed reviews on it. My pops saw it and said it was disappointing (but on the other hand he's not a big sci-fi fan, then again, nor am I lol) but I have been looking forward to this for some time. I guess i'll keep it on the list for now.
