Then don't watch them and stick to the movies you like?

I agree with what you say, but, realize that film (well, at least American film) is in its death throes, so you can take the high road and dislike every movie that comes out, or you can lower your standards, turn off your brain, and try to enjoy the last trickle of films that come out before the industry dies.

I love Nolan's Batman trilogy but I think the superhero movie adaptation craze need to die down a bit. Way too many mediocre/downright silly characters are being given their own movies. I don't care about the Avengers aside from Iron Man and the Hulk. I found that movie cheesy and poorly directed/shot. I also don't care about Green Lantern or many of the second tier DC ones. Does anyone really believe a Wonder Woman movie could be good? It isn't that I hate superheroes or comics in general, I just feel that many superheroes simply don't translate well to the big screen. Some things work in that format that don't work on film. Literal adaptations often result in boring, predictable films with two dimensional cardboard cutouts for characters.

Example?

I thought Captain America was ok but Red Skull was so cliche. Ugh.

I don't like Batman at all but I cherish his villains and I like the way Christopher Nolan makes his movies.

I don't care about Spiderman one bit but I end up watching each of them one time as a rental.

As for The Green Lantern, I couldn't finish the movie because it was so bad.

The Green Hornet was also pretty far off but I ended up watching the whole movie.

For Daredevil, it needs a reboot without Ben Affleck.

Superman is my favorite franchise but Superman Returns was a disappointment. I'm looking forward to the reboot.

Iron Man has replay value but it could be better.

The Incredible Hulk w/Edward Norton is just flawless. I'm ready for a sequel.

Ironically, as comics were so long a resource unused in Hollywood, using them as a source is just a creative as using any other source, ie books.

If you're looking for truely original stories, good luck as most stories have been told already in some fashion.

Thor, Captain America, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Daredevil, Green Hornet

They all just don't interest me at all.

Now, me--I tuned in late, y'see, and I'm still on the REAL discussion of specific characters, and not "I'm tired of all these movies, meh meh mehh"...
I know Edgar Wright is a core Ant-Man fan, and I know he'll do a respectful geek job (you should've heard the mess of a movie Stan Lee wanted to make)...But every time I hear the project I just sit and wait for some uninformed fan to think he's clever by making the same darn 70's SNL Garrett Morris jokes.
("Check it out, 'strength of a human'...Whaddya do, beat up on the ants?" )

But anyway: Heroes I don't care about? Guardians of the Galaxy...Next question.

This is how I feel, except I am not a huge fan of Nolan's trilogy, but I know well made movies when I see them!

I don't know why the original Superman films spent so much time with Lex Luthor. So many other villians they could have used.
It's kind of the same thing with Holmes and Moriarty. Luthor is the iconic nemesis for Supes.

I'd say Green Lantern tops my list, and to some extent Thor as well.

A real wonder woman should be able to do dishes; nude, in 3.5 seconds while maintaining silence. That is a needed reboot right there

Pretty much everything DC, with the strange exceptions of Firestorm (short lived) and The 80s Teen Titans (also New Teen Titans), although in this last case I put it squarely on the immense talent of the duo Wolfman/ Perez.

In fact I'd have to say that to truly be a fan of a Hero, you have to be able to go past a weak period in the scenarist/ artist changes ... And that's never happened with anything DC for me.

95%

Even when I was reading comics I only read my favs. The only thing that ever spurred my interest in the second tier characters was Justice League Unlimited. There they grouped a couple lesser known sups with a couple of the core group. It gave them nice intros without overly depending on them to carry it.
