Yes, I think it is. And I used just standard photo paper. It's a bit thinner than the usual slipcover. But in my opinion it's sturdy enough for a slipcover.
Also instead of changing the slipcover for blurays that already have a slipcover, but with the same design as the actual amaray I change the amaray cover art. I did one for the Social Network a long while ago... [Show spoiler] I used this image as inspiration: [Show spoiler] The backcover [Jesse's face] I found on google, the rest I made from scratch, because I could not find any picture with a reasonably resolution. As Futura as my favorite font I immediately recognized it. If you put the original text next to mine you see the difference. But you can't really tell if you only see the one that I did, so I don't really care. I also redone the spine, that was easy and I also left out some facebook symbols. I chose for a 'friends' symbol, because that really supports the text. The face is really intriguing, just like the text. So it makes for a nice whole. I think I might take this on as a hobby. I fancy myself as being fairly proficient at image editing and it would help satisfy my OCD (and give me something to do that produced tangible results). Plus, it would give me a chance to put my new printer through the paces. Which, by the way, if anyone is interested, is only $49.99 at Best Buy at the moment:

i'm sure my slips would look better if i printed them on some kind of photo paper. but what i'm using right now is plain card stock that you can pick up at wal-mart for a few dollars a pack.

card stock is the type of paper that's thick that you use to make greetings cards or print your own buisness cards on. here's a link to the product page on walmart's website. it's about 5 bucks for a pack of 150 sheets.

While you're here, I don't suppose I could persuade you to sell me the designs you've made already?
![]() I've no problem making some myself, but I'd feel pretty silly trying to do some up for the titles you've already posted, knowing full well they're not going to come out as nice as yours anyway. I could be using that time to make kickass other ones. ![]() Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 |

Alright, here's my first crack at it. I learned a couple things right off the bat:
I'm not sure if it's the paper or the printer causing the above "issues" (in all likelihood, it's a combination of both), but I'll probably run a single "photo paper" slipcover off just to see what difference it makes. Currently I'm using 110lb white Georgia Pacific card stock. That all being said, I'm pleased. I'll probably just try to find back art that doesn't have smaller text. The non-OEM ink for this printer is just way too cheap to not make it work. ![]() PS. Forgive the cell phone camera quality. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by enigma; 08-27-2012 at 12:17 AM. |
