With all due respect to the reviewer of this flick, I feel the score he gave for overall recommendation (3) did not reflect the other scores of the flick. In other words, does anyone else agree with the overall recommendation score the reviewer gave?

Have to say that my first impression of this movie at the cinema was not good. See post #5. The reviewer also gave the movie (story/plot) a 2.5 which brought the other scores, as an average, way down.

Decided to give the 3D feature set another go, and this time, I have to admit that I had a much better experience at home. Actually enjoyed the artistic creation and would now give the "movie" category personally, a 3.5.

Paul

I don't worry about reviews on this site for the most part as I rarely ever agree with them. I look at PQ and see if they point out any anomalies in the encodes etc, but that's all I ever take notice of.

Agreed! PQ is the most important part of a review that I value here. i.e. Using the heads-up evaluation on how professionally a studio comes close to duplicating an original theatrical experience on disc or the flawed disappointments spotted by a keen eye.

Thanks for your thoughts and all of you are right.

Have to admit, I didn't like how he ended the review...."a decent stocking stuffer for children between 5-8". Just did not care for that, lol. But I do appreciate the reviewer's time that he put into writing the review. Review was not bad by any means.

How is "A Mammoth Christmas 3D" (from the Best Buy exclusive) packaged? Is it on it's own disc? Or is it on the same disc as the 3D copy of the movie? I can't tell from the outside box.

I'm quite a bit older than you guys, but totally agree. Plus, I thought that the 3D was very good. I really like the Ice Age series.

I watched A Mammoth Christmas 3D last night. I thought the 3D was just okay. It really didn't blow me away. One would think it would have offered a lot more depth and pop outs, but it left me feeling that the 3D could have been so much better. I am still glad I went for the Best Buy exclusive. I still need to watch Continental Drift.

Didn't know "A Mammoth Christmas" was in 3D too! How did I miss that blurb. It's only available (on its own) in 2D from Amazon.

Now I'm going to have to try to pick this up. Thought it was just an extra 2D short feature, like BestBuy has included in other 3D specials.

I don't get 3net since my cable company doesn't get it and satellite signals don't come in from here (Directv and Dish),

but 3net already has two 3D cartoon tv series "Dream Defenders" and "Bolts & Blips" in case anyone is interested.

At least, I think those are the names. It might be "Blips & Bolts".

Does this still come with the 3D christmas special at BBY? I may get this since it's on sale for $20. Is this a good buy for $20?

I got this along with dawn of dinosaurs in 3D for 14.99 each after trade & save at Futureshop. Deal ends feb 14th. Both have great 3D with decent pop here and there. On the drift disc, they included a real nice 3D trailer for a movie called "Epic"

got this yesterday with U&S at BB for $16.

I am really enjoying this movie more at home than when I aw it at the theater.

Plot and 3D are million times better than Resident evil Retribution

The 3D is very good with tonnes of layers and depth and there are ocassional popouts.

Its much better 3D than the dawn of dinos.
