I'll get the box set since it not only comes with the movies, but also a lot of extra stuff (look at that picture, there is a lot in there). And for an extra $5, I think it is nice to have it all grouped together with a bunch of cool extras.
Of course there are still 2 more movies, so we'll see if I wait till the final box set is out or not, but I will prolly just get this one.

We'll just be getting Harry Potter 5. For the most part we're not re-buying things we already have, although I have made a couple of exceptions to get the Blu-ray collection started.

Agreed! if he likes transformers THAT much, then he should join the Blu side. Once Blu-ray wins the format war then he'll be able to see Transformers with a full lossless audio track.

I was thinking the same at first. I actually never bought 4 in anticipation of a Blu release, so I'd just rebuy 1-3. Was planning on rebuying only 3, since I love it so much, but the prices are better than I expected, so I decided to rebuy 1 & 2 as well.

I just be picking up Order of The Phoenix alone. Already have the previous ones on DVD, but don't like the series enough to upgrade

Now I know you've been banned for trolling, but I have to comment anyways. I doubt you have seen the latest Dracula release, which I must say i found most impressive. But others don't like it cause they are comparing it to the DVD release they have seen. Well the fact is, the director never approved the DVD release, because there were changes made to make it easier to see things and the like (adding blue to lighten certain scenes).
This latest release was not only approved by, but also have the director working on the changes to bring it back to the way he originally saw it. This is a re-release, and a re-mastered edition. If you like the DVD copy so much, no wonder you are an HD-DVD fan.

Got the box set from Warner's store for ~$80 with the 25% off coupon they had. $16 a movie ain't bad plus all the other cool stuff.

I ordered the first four from Warner (individually, obviously) with the 25% off, so they ended up being something like $17.21 apiece. When OOTP becomes available for preorder, and if WB has the 25% off still going, I'll probably add it to the order. Otherwise I'll go to Wal-Mart at midnight and get it, as I haven't seen it yet and I'm dying to. I would've gotten the box set, but I hate inconsistency in packaging.

I'm getting the giftset.

There were ?s about the 1-disc Blu-ray, 2-disc DVD. According to what I heard, the Blu-ray will have all the DVD extras (some SD, some HD) aong with some new ones, on one dual layer disc, while the HD-DED version will use 2 discs as their can't hold as much data.

I've also heard there might be Linear PCM on these

they fall apart... at least mine did... i love these movies and watch them plenty, unfortunatly the boxes don't keep up with normal wear and tear.. .although i don't know if that would be considered wear and tear

I have the first Matrix movie on DVD in one of those cases, and while it hasn't fallen apart, it never closes properly, and doesn't match the cases for Reloaded and Revolutions... ah well, soon I will have all 3 on blu-ray and can get rid of that stupid cardboard eye sore.

The first two Harry Potter films didn't use the same type of case as the Matrix (which are the crappiest storage devices every created). The first two HP's had a trifold (if I remember correctly) case that had a slipcover. They were actually very nice, not exactly the same as the regular DVD cases, but close enough, and they looked good. Then the other two came out in the regular Amaray cases, which is one of things that irks me the most when looking at my shelf. I didn't buy the two-disc version of Prisoner of Azkaban or Goblet of Fire because I couldn't get the same packaging. Some people are worse than me though, as they can't stand the difference in Blu-ray cases between the Warner and Fox cases (a lil' fatter, lighter blue) vs. Disney and Sony (slimmer, darker blue). I do like the slimmer ones better, but at least they sit flush with each other.

The box set has quite a few nice gifts that come with it. I'd say wait till all of them are on Blu if you plan on getting the box set.

I'm probably gonna go with the individuals. I'll wait until I can get a better look at the box until I decide for sure, but I also like uniformity, and the blu cases are cool! I'm definitely getting all five even though I have the first four on regular DVD! This series is one of my favorites (both books and the movies), and I'm so thrilled they're coming to BD! 3 & 5 are my favorites...
