As long as you are a subscriber (that's why I download everything, or at least "purchase" everything immediately). If you suddenly end your subscription, wait a year, and then resubscribe, the game comes back too.

I'm sure it will be, usually the big games like that will be for a few months like on the PS3

Yeah, mike's probably right. They do give you a week or so warning before getting pulled off PS+ (there's a section called Expiring Soon or something in the Store). If I happen to see it on there, I'll let you know.

If you have a PS3, you can download it from the store and that secures it until you can download it on Vita.

But, all the free avatars & themes you keep. Even if you drop ps+.

Same here, everything is in my download list so I can download from there whenever I choose to even when it's gone from the PSN+ section. I've done that with all the free Vita games and don't even have a Vita yet!

If it's anything like the Instant game collection for PS3 you have a long time as those are still up now. I think by being in the Instant game collection it's something that will always be there for every new ps+ as an incentive.

I'm just assuming here but it would make sense

Indeed. And also games that are purchased with a discount are yours to keep regardless. It's only free games that disappear with your cancellation.

Some games have cycled out of the Instant Game Collection on PS3. When they cycle out, anyone who was a PS+ member who claimed it gets to keep it (so long as they keep their membership active), but anyone who forgot, as well as newcomers can no longer get those games for free from PS+. The Sony-published games like Littlebigplanet have stayed, but all of the 3rd party games eventually rotate out. If you're not a PS+ member and claim your freebie by the time they're out of rotation, then you're out of luck.

Off the cuff, looking at the list at the official PlayStation Plus page, I've got several games that have since rotated out (but remain in my PS+ Instant Game Collection):

Saints Row 2
Just Cause 2
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine
Virtua Fighter 5
Choplifter HD
Zombie Apocalypse: Never Die Alone
Renegade Ops
Gotham City Imposters

Hard Corps: Uprising, Pac-Man Championship DX and Sideway: New York have also rotated out, but I bought those before they were in the PS+ freebie deal so my copies of those aren't tied to my PS+ subscription.

New PS+ subscribers can no longer get any of the above games as freebies, and I suspect the current crop of freebies will change again as soon as the December 5 update hits with titles like Batman: Arkham City, LIMBO, and Vanquish taking the place of Crysis 2, Double Dragon: Neon, and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

This isn't PS+ related but it's a similar question.

When i bought my Vita last week (it's wrapped under the tree now) i got a code to download Playstation Battle Royale for Vita. Can i just download this on my PS3 and have it stored there until Christmas? I'm worried about codes expiring and all that.

If i do download games using PS+ or like this where on the PS3 does it go? Stored within my PSN account? Thanks

(1) Yes, you can redeem the code.

(2) Yes, you can download it to your PS3. It will go into a Vita-specific section of your PS3. The PS3 can't use the Vita version, but if you download it to the PS3, you can use the Content Manager on the Vita to pull it off the PS3 without re-downloading the installation package.

(3) You can also just choose to redeem the code and NOT download it to your PS3, which will keep the game in your PSN Download History. At that point once you get your Vita you can go to your Download History and download/install it directly to your Vita.

Hmmm, the Vita games I DL'd to my PS3 just show up as "bubble" files in my normal Game section. I'm running v4.31.

If you connect your Vita and run the bubble, it'll install the game to your Vita.

Getting PS+ on my Vita was probably one of the smartest things I have done in a while! It's so awesome!

Chronovolt (Vita) is a new addition to the PS+ freebies lineup this week in North America.

Sadly, it's not a terribly good game. It's a Marble Madness-like game with shinier graphics and a dash of Prince of Persia-like time manipulation. I don't particularly care for the controls, and that's a pretty fatal flaw in this sort of game.

Still, for the low price of free if you're a PS+ subscriber, it's worth checking out.
