Thanks!

The transfer just looks ok to me so far. About a 3 (3.5 at times). I like natural film grain but this seems excessive and kind of makes things look a bit murky.

The sound is master audio which for some reason I thought was just Dolby Digital 5.1. Seems like a weird mix, as the front channel seems louder than it should. More like a sci-Fi film than a rom-com. If anything, dialog heavy movies need us to turn it up a bit and we needed to crank this down.

Still so much better than DVD and I'm almost positive this will be how it looks when it finally gets a US release. Or maybe they delayed it to DNR it to death.

Glad I made the purchase finally and it took only 8 days to get here from Australia.

Count me in as yet another one who got tired of waiting for the US to release this movie, so I also ordered the Australian Blu-Ray. I think the quality of the picture looks just fine!

Although the case is just a wee bit thicker than the usual Blu-Ray case, to me.

That's always been my biggest hangup with non-USA BDs.

Which subtitles are on it? Not judging from the cover, but in reality.

How can this movie has never been released on blu-ray discs in the US?
Please release this movie with Korean and Japanese subtitles on 4K UHD!

Does anyone know if the imported blu ray is the theatrical cut? The one that includes the scene where Pullman gives Bullock a ride to a party in the furniture truck but it’s only like six feet away. In the video version they start to drive away but then there’s a badly edited shot of them walking up the lawn (with green grass instead of snow!) arriving at the party. The joke about it being right next door was cut.

That's funny, I just watched the DVD for the second time ever, and it's the first time in ten years. Prior to that I watched the movie 8 times on the US VHS (love this movie). While watching this scene I thought there was something missing, and it's then missing from the DVD too, but it sure is in the VHS. Why the heck was it cut???

Anyway, the picture quality on the DVD, is pretty bad compared to what you'd expect. So can anyone suggest where to find the Australian BD?

As of right now, there's a seller on Amazon with a "Very Good" used copy for $25 (USD).

I'm shocked that this movie has never gotten a domestic US blu ray release. It's a very warm, fun movie.

They must have increased the price as it's now £42

Can a mod either revise the thread title to include CANCELLED or move this thread to the Australian section?

This film has never been released on BD in the US. There were preorder pages in the US, but the release was cancelled. The first page or so of this thread is about that cancelled release, while the remainder of the thread is people talking about the existing Australian BD.

So I revisited this disc last night after quite some years and now appreciate this transfer so much after some of the atrocities we get these days.

30 anniversary next year... Maybe we'll see something in 25? Not holding my breath though.

Yeah I was kind of confused I was like why did I get the Aussie BD import of this if it came out in 2013 on BD in USA. Turns out it never did.

Sadly, the film is Disney, so that won't be happening, unless the whole company is reorganized.
