So there's no way to do it without cropping? Friends aired in 4 x 3, but was able to have all the seasons in 16 x 9 without cropping. Is their no chance that the X-Files was shot in a way that could allow them to go widescreen without cropping?

I will buy it either way. I guess the cost is just going to be too high or the time they're taking too long to offer the full set at first.

This bothers me, because getting rid of my old DVDs is going to be a pain, but I'm willing to do it for The X-Files in blu, but a) I'm worried about how many years it will take for them to roll out all 9 seasons and b) after years old upgrading and finally collecting all new season you just know that they'll release a big box set with a bonus disc with GA and DD content that your collection wouldn't be complete without.

Great news all-around, but ugh to late 2013 and no big box set right off the bat. I'm not a patient man.

The Digital Bits is probably the #1 most accurate and trustworthy site when it comes to DVD/BD's. They don't run wild rumors and speculation like forums and fan sites have to deal with. Anything they run, even in their "Rumor Mill" is solid info from reliable sources. Usually it's just factual info that has been disclosed to retailers or other sources, but hasn't been "officially" announced, so they classify it as rumor.

You of all people would agree with me in wishing Veronica Mars would get a blu release. But of all the shows I hope make the jump eventually, I know that one will never happen

I'm in depending on funds. It's very hard watching the DVDs as they seem to have poor interlacing.

The worms from "Ice," in particular could use an update.

Yup. It was good until we all realized they were making it up as they went. Duchovny bailed and the series should have ended on a high note and turned it into a film franchise...instead they just ran it into the ground.

Having said that, I dug I Want to Believe. A lot. I know it wasn't what everyone else wanted, but I went along with it.

Not if you consider that you could have been watching them on DVD for years and well into the future too since the first one won't even be out until last 2013.

Yes! Wow! I never thought that FOX would release this due to filming limitations. Just in time too, I was *this* close to buying the complete series box.

Hopefully this comes sooner rather than later. There's not really anything I would rather have on bd.

Hopefully not. The best episodes of the show were MOTW, episodes. Like José Chung, war of the coprophages, Paper hearts.
