Oh! Awesome - I haven't poked in here for a while and skimmed the last two pages or so.

Thanks!

I hope season 1 will be cheaper at Best Buy. I need to pick up both seasons.

It will be interesting to see if Best Buy tries to match it, or if they stick with their usual $34.99. I'm more interested in bonus video content that an exclusive cover anyway, so I just might have to go for this Target edition (especially since I'm planning on picking up the Target exclusive for Argo the same day).
Thanks for pointing this out bsweetness.

From my understanding the Best Buy exclusives are just the box artwork, Walmart has a bonus BD disc of "Inside the visual effects", and Target has a bonus BD disc that includes "An in-depth feature interview with author George R. R. Martin plus 4 behind the scenes featurettes".

For the bonus material and the $29.99 price tag, I'll be going with the Target version.

*sigh*

It hasn't been released yet. The Target ad for next week has already popped up online, so we know what price they'll have it for. Target's website currently has it for $49.99 because the $29.99 price won't be completely official until Sunday. Amazon will drop their price by next week as well.

There's no need to worry.

Default UV with Amazon Game of Thrones 2?

Amazon can't seem to help me. Clearly Target and walmart says UV digital with their set. Blu-ray only says for download. And amazon site just says digital copy with expire date to download. So is it , or is it not, UV at VUDU to own in the cloud

HBO titles are a little particular, in that they are not UV on VUDU- however they can be redeemed in UV on flixster and also as VUDU titles (and iTunes). So if you were to redeem it only on VUDU no one in your UV family would be able to see it, and if you redeem it on Flixster they can (at this point) only watch it there (as CN doesn't do UV tv shows yet, and all the other providers aren't active yet).

So many choices... what to do...

I'm leaning towards the BBY Lannister version.

you have chosen correctly thus far. Saying what you should get for season 3 is probably a spoiler, so I won't say.

Every single HBO combo pack release has had both UltraViolet and iTunes digital copies. This will be no different. It will have both.

They are always late.
Having had Prime for around four years, Amazon is always right on time with mine. I can only think of two times when any of my release date deliveries arrived late.

The Wal-Mart method (at least for how they shipped Skyfall for me) has a higher chance of not arriving on time. They used UPS Mail Innovations, which means UPS carries it part of the way and then hands it off to the USPS for delivery. When things are done that way, there's no guaranteed delivery date, and extra time can get added onto the delivery because of the exchange. The two deliveries I've had arrive late from Amazon were shipped via UPS Mail Innovations, and both arrived a day late because of the exchange. I guess that's why Wal-Mart seems to ship the Vudu pre-orders early, and why the packages sometimes arrive early - they want to make sure there's enough time for the entire process. But even then, using two carriers instead of one always adds the potential for complications.

Hopefully that doesn't happen for anyone who pre-preordered this from Wal-Mart.

Agreed....I've had Amazon Prime for a year now and aside from my The Lord of the Rings Extended Edition Blu-ray it is probably one of the best investments I've ever made. My shipments are always on time.

Just a repost from the thread about next week's Best Buy Ad

"NEW RELEASES

Game of Thrones: The Complete Second Season - $34.99
[EXCLUSIVE LANNISTER PACKAGING] - $34.99
[EXCLUSIVE GREYJOY PACKAGING] - $34.99"

Glad the price is confirmed. The difference between $70 and $120 for the two exclusives sets is big.

Unless Amazon drops to $29.99, which I doubt they'll do, I'm probably going to cancel Amazon and pick up Greyjoy!

Why would you don't that amazon will do something they almost always do. Target is a major retailer. I'd be surprised if they didnt match it,
