CinemaNow and Rovi launch beta at home D2D service

Got a response about my problem with Blade Runner today......

It's listed on their website as available, but then they claim it isn't. Not sure how accurate the list is.I'm guessing the only way to know if it works for D2D is to try it.

Unfortunetly, when you redeem your disc to digital copy you are converting to an ultraviolet digital copy. Some titles are not available in UV. Please when you are going to redeem a disc to digital, confirm that the movie is available first.

I ran into a bit of a different situation. I noticed Quest for Camelot was listed in the PDF but it doesn't show up as available on CinemaNow. I didn't try redeeming the title so don't know if it actually works. However, I was surprised they would even list titles that they don't even carry on their site.

Word of caution if you upgrade to HD, your purchase will show up on uvvu.com as a SD UV license so any other site will only provide you with a SD copy. Even though you pay $5.00 you will only get SD because of what is repoted to your digital locker on uvvu.com.

Now, I was able to do a few other titles. They show up as HDX on Vudu.

Justice League: Doom is listed as available on their list of movies, but when I try it I get the "Not currently available" message. Oh well. Can't even take that one to Walmart as it's not on Vudu's list at all.

Superman/Batman Apocalypse only gives the option for HD. That's the first I've seen of that.

Looks like they've removed the link for the available titles list now.
The page is still in the FAQ, but the link is no longer there.

As are mine. So far this is a pretty great service. I can't wait till it's out of beta and Blu-ray is included. I think we may hear more about this service and or other home disc to digital services at CES.

All of mine were reported as "Standard and high definition" to UVVU.com

Unlike Vudu they seem to have most Miramax titles on the list and a couple Lionsgate. I did notice that when they started this they added UV to the Lionsgate and Miramax titles in the regular Cinemanow store. Too bad they didn't retroactively add UV to them. I bought a few on their cybermonday sale, but they don't auto add them to your UV like Vudu does is you already own a movie through them that get's added to UV.

For anyone who may have already upgraded their Kill Bills and Sin City they are having a Tarintino sale right now so the movies are around 7 or 8 bucks each in HD. Might be worth it if you have some CN credit from ebay.

Looks like I spoke too soon. I tried another four movies today and only one shows up in my UV account right now and it's in SD. Movies normally pop up in the UV account right away but I am still waiting on the other three. And to top things off I bought Spy Games from the end of year blowout in HD and it's in UV locker as SD only. I am done with CinemaNow till they fix the issues they have.

They're probably updating their site with the list. I thought it was kind of unprofessional to link to a dropbox link for the list

The two I did the D2D to HD both are showing up only in SD. I guess I'll need to contact their great support team

^I agree. I was considering getting Lawrence of Arabia for the time being, to tide me over till I get the BD, but not if it doesn't net me an HDX version on Vudu

Here's the ones I tried redeeming fo HD but got SD. After the first two only going to SD, everything else I did was SD why pay $5 if all I'm going to get is SD anyway.
