Finished watching the set the last 3 nights and it was great. Only edits i noticed were during Diesel vs HBK - they cut away when Diesel was choking Earl Henber with his tape and they cut Diesel "hanging" HBK with Hebner's belt.
They also edited some choking in the Final Four match. So looks like any forms of choking is being removed on DVDs/Blu-ray which started with the Wrestlemania 15 re-release. Other than that, highly recommend it. Hope they come out with Volume 2. |

At last, my review for the In Your House set:
Hart Vs. Hakushi - I forget just how much of a good match this is. It is a great classic opening bout. The Modern Day Kamikaze looked very much like he could compete with any heavyweight, but had the agility, moves, and risk-taking mindset of a much smaller wrestler. Shame WWF didn't use him better. The Japanese pilgrim was just awesome. Jarrett Vs. Michaels - Loved this match. Absolutely one of the best damn matches to take place for the Intercontinental Championship. Great in-ring work from the two, hot crowd, Road Dog being ringside to add drama to the match and the best part was JJ and HBK trying to one up each other on showing off. I said it before and I'll say it again, Jeff Jarrett is one of the most underrated performers in the business. Ramon Vs. Douglas - I like both guys, but not this match. Too slow for my taste with way too many restholds. I can see why Shane hated his WWF run, the politics he had to deal with spoke for itself with the way this encounter was booked. This impromptu match was the only sore spot for me out of all of the match listings. Helmsley Vs. Godwinn - The stipulation of the match was that you had to throw your opponent into a hog pen to win . This was a fun match, but it went on 10 minutes longer than it should have. HHH and HOG eventually get to the hog pen, but it was a tease and they wind up going all the way back to the ring to waste time. Ugh. Funny enough, I always thought [Show spoiler] . The best part was at the very end, Triple H in a fit of rage after getting dirty is throwing mud at the WWF camera crew as well as the fans. Somebody in the audience didn't like this and returned the favor by throwing his soda drink. Headshot! X DHart Vs. Smith - Quote:
Nash Vs. Michaels - While I prefer their Wrestlemania 11 match, I can see why their No Holds Barred rematch is praised. It's a fun fight to watch even with the roles reversed (a babyface Shawn is now the champion defending against the heel Kevin). It's stupid the choking got edited out, but if you've never seen this match before, it was a great censoring job as most people new to watching this match wouldn't have noticed. My biggest kayfabe pet peeve with this bout has always been: If being the WWF Champion made Diesel miserable, why he did challenge for the belt again? lol Michaels Vs. Foley - While its a good match and showed Mankind is more than just a glorified stunt man, I'm not sure if its match of the year for 1996. I probably would've liked it better if it wasn't for the lame disqualification ending. Austin Vs. Helmsley - My favorite match from these two in a rare heel vs. heel match (Hunter being the replacement for an injured Savio Vega) even though even back then Stone Cold was the face by default (following his KOTR speech a few months before) despite both of them taking turns to work up the fans. Its a solid match from both men who would go on to be big stars in the main event scene. Jim Ross's headset going out was a clever angle to turn him heel. It was hilariously distracting. My only complaint was Mr. Perfect coming down the aisle to taunt a young Game as they had just begun a feud then the next night on RAW, he winds up becoming his Executive Consultant in a nonsensical creative move probably booked by Vince Russo. Fun fact: This PPV is where Stone Cold debuted his classic glass shatters theme IIRC. Mankind Vs. Undertaker - Yes, it was the first Buried Alive match, but I never cared for it. Austin Vs. Hart Vs. Undertaker Vs. Vader - It was a good main event, but I hated the elimination by over the top rule. I think the match would've been better had it just been pinfalls and submissions only. Austin Vs. Hart - Their rematch at Revenge Of The Undertaker is another good match not talked about. Of course, it was a difficult task to follow Wrestlemania 13, but I felt this match was good in its own right. What's even more shocking is Stone Cold came THIS close to beating The Hitman in proper fashion had it not been for Owen and Davey to come to the rescue. Another impressive fact is this main event (with the winner getting a title shot against The Undertaker at A Cold Day In Hell) was booked on the fly on as Steve was a replacement for an injured Sid. The Hart Foundation Vs. Team Austin - Words cannot describe how magnificent this 10 man tag team match was and Bret's pop from his hometown was near deafening. Not going to lie, its a little odd to see Goldust be a member of Team USA, but this match was fitting end to Steve's rivalry with Bret even if he was never able to beat The Hitman properly. Nothing, but action from bell to bell. Michaels Vs. Undertaker - The forgotten match in HBK's feud with Undertaker as they went on to have bigger rematches with Hell In The Cell and Wrestlemania. Ground Zero was the first time Shawn squared off with The Deadman and I'm a little disappointed by that as they should've faced other sooner easily in 1994 or early 1995. Anyway, lots of heel work by Michaels here playing the chickensh** heel. Of course by the end of the match, the refs said "Fu** it" and threw out the match from too much interference. Terrific performance though. Definitely a must watch for anybody who is a fan of either man. Shamrock Vs. Michaels - I'm so glad this was added a bonus match! For a show dedicated to Shawn's newly formed faction, these two worked well together. It's no surprise why Ken picked this as his favorite WWF match. Damn shame he wasn't used more in the main event scene. The former UFC Champion would've made a great WWF Champion, but then again he was the first TNA Champion so it wasn't a total loss. Team Austin Vs. D-Generation X - A lot of people took Savio Vega as a buzzkill for replacing Shawn, but it made perfect sense to me given his feud with Stone Cold a few years ago. Unfortunately, a lot of people forgot about that. With that said, I loved this main event. Deliciously violent with weapons galore in front of a Houston crowd cheering on their home state hero. Austin & Undertaker Vs. Kane & Mankind - Decent main event although having the tag team titles up for grabs was unnecessary. Shamrock Vs. Foley - Again, another match to show fantastic of a worker Mrs. Foley's baby boy was. In this match, he compliments Ken Shamrock's UFC style by having several of his body parts being worked on in order for The World's Most Dangerous Man to make him tap which leads to one of my favorite match finishes: [Show spoiler] . ![]() Maivia Vs. Foley - This was the first Last Man Standing match and its also my favorite match in the Rock / Mankind saga, it even surpasses their I Quit match. And the reason I say that St. Valentine's Day co-main event showed that these two men would do whatever it took to be WWF Champion. After a lot of back and forth action, we finally get to the end with the Rocky II-like spot of a double knockdown. I'm usually not a fan of draws, but this was last show before Wrestlemania 15 so it made sense. WWE needs to come out with Vol. 2. There's plenty of great In Your Houses matches to be released! :rock P.S. : Todd Pettengill gets too much hate, but seeing him again reminded me that he was infact a great pitchman for the WWF.
