My copy came today from Sainsburys. Came in the old cardboard packages that zavvi used to use - mint condition, except for a barely noticeable spine slash (RoboCop also came: no damage).

I've never had Platoon on blu ray before: a bit disappointed to find that the Tour of the Inferno doc isn't on there. It does appear on the R1 2 disc dvd though, so a disc swap will put that right.

This was the only release that didn't ship from Amazon, for me. All the other titles on this wave did. I hope it's not sold out.

Thread is old but have to vent my frustration.

How in the *%#@ does this not contain the documentary of the actor interviews? I can't believe that. Am I missing something? It's not even mentioned in the review. Now I have to grab the DVD which contains the documentary because some genius decided to omit the doc. That is outrageous. It's the most candid and entertaining actor interviews ever released that I know of! Extremely disappointing.

For those of you who don't know....check it out. It's exactly the type of behind the scenes doc you always want and rarely see.

Edit: Not sure if this was mentioned already but I'm so PO'd I dove straight into the reply. Can't believe this s#@*t.

It's a decent steel but I've always thought the DVD steel, black with dog tags, was a better design. It does the job but wtf with the actor interviews? Blasphemy!

Sorry for rant but this was one of my first favorite flicks so there's a little passion going on here....

Wow I missed this more recent post. That's the one....Tour of the Inferno. Yup, will have to swap discs.

IMO Although I'm a Steel addict...the Criterion releases do justice. Double dip? Ehhhh idk. Would def go for a Tree of Life steel though.

I try not to double dip myself, but I'd definitely dip twice for anything by Malick. Tree of Life steel when he finally decides to release the 'uncut' marathon length version of the film would make my year
