1. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
2. Paranorman
#37 on the list. I'm happy it's at least here. This movie, perhaps more than any other in 2012, took me on a journey. From the beginning I connected to it. The way the story develops, going from different beats and tones, will be off putting for some. I was spellbound till the end. It captivated my eyes and my soul.
3. Moonrise Kingdom
4. The Dark Knight Rises
5. The Avengers
6. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Pt. 2
7. The Life Of Pi
8. Indie Game: The Movie

14. V/H/S
15. Rise Of The Guardians
16. Chronicle
17. The Grey
18. The Moth Diaries
19. Pitch Perfect
#44 on the list. Thought it would be lower. Must be that many haven't seen it.
20. The Cabin In The Woods

If I didn't put it at #1 on my list, it probably wouldn't have made the Top 60.

My friend told me it was his favourite movie of the year. He may not have voted.

I see it getting a lot of recognition down the line as people give it a try.

There HAS to be a sequel. It's making A LOT of money on DVD and Blu-ray. Doubled it's budget in DVD sales already. Almost reached its budget on blu-ray sales. Sad that people are buying it on DVD instead.

Buying DVD is depressing. There was a recent movie I wanted to support. It only came out on DVD. To make matters worse I saw the movie streaming in HD. I knew how good it could look. The idea of going from great-ish quality to mediocre quality... couldn't deal with it.

While Pitch Perfect doesn't scream sequel, I did massively enjoy it. I want more.

Surprised that "Wreck-It-Ralph" didn't even make the top 20. That was the best animation this year by far.

Kind of expected "Les Miserables" to not make the top 20 from looking at people's lists but hoped I was wrong. Oh well...

Really surprised that "Flight" was so low. My vote for best actor of the year. Really enjoyed the film too.

20. 21 Jump Street - My #13 Hilarious, definitely best comedy of 2012.
21. Wreck-It Ralph - #15 Best animation of 2012, had a lot of heart.
22. Seven Psychopaths - #6 The irony and self-awareness, along with great acting from Rockwell and Walken, made this an instant classic.
23. Les Miserables - #5 The acting was amazing, and the fact that they were singing live made it that much more emotional.
24. Chronicle - #17 Dane DeHaan is one of my new favorite actors, he was amazing in this.
25. Ted - Actually really disappointed with this movie, not that funny and pretty forgettable.
26. The Raid: Redemption - Haven't seen it yet, but would like to.
27. Dredd - Haven't seen it, don't know if I care to.
28. Flight - Denzel was great, but after the crash segment, it got really boring. Hated the main girl in this.
29. Beasts of the Southern Wild - Haven't seen it yet, very much want to.
30. Lawless - #19 A surprise, I loved this one. Tom Hardy and Dane DeHaan were especially great in it.
31. Cloud Atlas - Haven't seen it, indefferent about it.
32. Brave - Haven't seen, but would like to.
33. End of Watch - Haven't seen it.
34. Safety Not Guaranteed - Thought this was just okay, not as impressed as I was hoping.
35. Expendables 2 - Haven't seen it or the first one. Not really a fan of the actors, so I don't really care.
36. Killer Joe - Hadn't even heard of this one until this poll.
37. ParaNorman - Liked it, but I thought Frankenweenie was much better.
38. Killing Them Softly - Haven't seen it, not sure if I will after what I've heard about it.
39. The Secret World of Arrietty - Haven't seen, would like to.
40. Amour - Haven't seen, would like to.
41. John Carter - Wasn't as bad as people made it out to be.
42. Men in Black 3 - Much better than the second movie, pretty good sequel.
43. Jack Reacher - Haven't seen, don't know if I care to.
44. Pitch Perfect - Pretty good, but not as funny as I thought it would be. The musical scenes were great.
45. Total Recall - Visually looked amazing, but it was boring.
46. Snow White and the Huntsman - Like John Carter, not nearly as bad as people made it out to be.
47. Safe House - Haven't seen it.
48. Bourne Legacy - Haven't seen it, I hate all the other Bourne movies, so I don't think I'll see this one.
48. Magic Mike - Haven't seen it yet, but I would really like to.
48. Searching for Sugar Man - Don't usually watch documentaries, but I might try to see this one.
48. This Is 40 - Not very funny, but the drama aspects were great.
