Everyone is biased to some degree, I don't think Peter M. Bracke is a HD-DVD fanboy. Bracke is a man who loves extras, I mean look at the title of extras....

The Supplements: Digging Into the Good Stuff

Maybe that's why Bracke sounds biased, giving HD-DVD better reviews because they have the extras. He give Spider-man Trilogy a "Worth a look" because of the lack of extras, but then he said
Quote:
If extras aren't important to you, then by all means snap this one right up.
As far has Transformer goes I don't understand why Audio was a 5 star if it doesn't support HD sound. I haven't watch it in HD-DVD so I can say the audio is worth the 5 stars or not. (Personally I don't think it should, but this is an uneducated opinion.)

well, i watched it on hd dvd at the store with 1080p tv (TOSHIBA) and i can say that the picture quality pretty crappy. i can say for sure in my opinion that it was pretty disappointing. and for sound, i didn't hear it too much but it was enough to say that i wasn't worth the 5 star. so quit calling peope "completely biased retard", he/she is just expressing his/her opinion. if you disagree, then say it in a proper way.

I've found Peter Bracke's reviews to be rather fair... I don't always agree with them, but I've always found them to be fair.

I have also found that HighDefDigest is particularly harsh on Universal... though I often agree with the statements made regarding Universal.

They're newer hit movies don't have Dolby TrueHD, but twenty year old movies often do...

As far as "Transformers" go, "Transformers" had a GREAT Dolby Digital Plus soundtrack, and if you were rating the Dolby Digital Plus, a five would be a fitting rating, though the lack of a Dolby TrueHD soundtrack is shameful of Paramount.

Josh Zyber however is the HD DVD fanboy personified...

His review is legit. Blu-ray has a far larger storage capacity than HD-DVD. There is no good reason why they couldn't include the supplemental features originally found in the DVD version of Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2. Because of Blu-ray's technical capabilities in comparison to HD-DVD, having literally ZERO supplements is appalling. Whether one watches extras or not, doesn't give you a reason not to include them. I refuse to support HD-DVD and I am for Blu-ray all the way, but for this particular release, Sony screwed over their faithful consumers. It's absolutely unacceptable. There's a rumor that Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 special edition versions will be released separately in the future. That pisses me off. Why couldn't they release with set. Unacceptable!

He has changed it to "recommended" where it should have been based on his track history.

Then don't buy it.

The lack of extras is not stopping me from buying the most anticipated release of the year on Blu.

I wonder if he got some pressure from any BD people to change his opinion... Just like Michael Bay did about the pro blu-ray comments, then a retract, then back again.

When Star Wars comes out on Blu he will still be saying, "Worth a look."
