We don't know yet but it seems they're aiming for a 2015 release date, I'm assuming it'll be September/October like the others, and they usually started filming the November before, so my guess would be November this year.

Actress Bingbing Li will reprise her role as Ada Wong for the next installment of “Resident Evil,” according to director Paul W.S. Anderson. “Resident Evil 6″ or RESIDENT EVIL RISING will follow Alice (played by Milla Jovovich) and her crew as they rush to The Hive, where The Red Queen plots total destruction over the human race.

Li is best known in America for her role as Ada in “Resident Evil: Retribution.” Her next English language project will be as Su Yueming in “Transformers: Age of Extinction.”

The project was slated to start shooting last October with a projected release date of September 2014 but since no filming has actually taken place, it’s looking like we’ll be waiting until 2015 at the earliest.

Well this is some good news. A little upsetting about the date change but at least we do get another movie.

I must admit to liking the finale we saw at the end of the last film, sets up this one for a riot of monster action. But I fear they have left it too late now and this will just fail as this franchises style is so dated. I mean this franchise kicked off back in 2002! that's 12 years ago! times have changed, we have moved past the era of 'The Matrix' type flick.

I get the impression they have to make it just to finish it off, its like they're obliged to do so just for the boxset sales.

As silly as these films can be, I find them to be highly entertaining (even if I did find the last one to be terrible).

Each film makes more than the last so I'd hardly say that's true. Retribution did make a small amount less than 4, but they still make great business!

Yet another HIVE? Red Queen again too? Kind of disappointing, but hopefully they at least make it better than the last one.
