I love Lilo & Stitch. I've been a fan of Chris Sanders since the early 90's. It was awesome to meet him a few years back; I colored one of his drawings, gave him a copy, and he was kind enough to sign a copy for me.

I watched Stitch Has a Glitch just once . . . it was probably the most depressing Disney animated movie I've ever seen (if one actually counts it as a Disney animated movie), the whole thing with Lilo's mom made me just want to cry throughout the whole thing.

I'm not far off . . . I was 26 when I saw it in theaters (er, almost 26 1/2). But you're only as old as you feel.

Y'know, I never really thought about what WAS the Most Depressing Disney Animated ever (Bambi? Dumbo? Fox & the Hound?), but think we've got one of the finalists here.
At least I admired its integrity for ignoring the TV series, and going with the original movie-sequel storyboards...Even if the original movie was thematically a bit of a mess to begin with, all any of the defenders remember from it were the teary/huggy parts.

I adore this movie a lot. Hope it really comes out this year. It's the 10th Anniversary after all.

I may be tempted to grab this one, if the PQ is really good. It's not a favorite, but it does grow on you.

So you're saying that I'm 157 years old?

I wonder if Disney will release this alongside Atlantis and Emporer's New Groove. I thought it was pretty awesome to see Mulan, Hunchback and Brother Bear all out the same day... would love a repeat of that this fall/next spring/whenever Disney releases these.

Can not wait for this! They need to get Hercules on blu also. That was my top priority as far as Disney goes. But I just bought it on Vudu in HDX. So now this is the one I'm really waiting for!

Nice. They need to hurry up and announce these for the US. I assume 101 Dalmatians and Tarzan will come first. I'm looking forward to all of these. Stitch, Emperor's New Groove, and Tarzan the most.

Dalmatians is likely still a Diamond Edition, which means the earliest release date would be Fall 2014 (if that's not gonna be Aladdin's slot)

Oh, yeah. That's right. I was thinking they would come out with a two pack for Dalmatians here like they did in Europe.

Thoughts?

Personally, I'm beside myself it's finally coming. I caught L&S in theaters as a 9-year old, didn't think too much of it, but some years later saw it again as a teenager and fell in love with it. To this day, it sits firmly among my top 15 best Disney classics of all time.
Thank God. This is one of my daughters favorites and I'm done with the commercial laden Disney Channel version we have saved on he DVR.

This is how I see the remaining unreleased Disney slate:

101 Dalmatians (Diamond Edition)
101 Dalmatians II - (Special Edition)
Aladdin (Diamond Edition)
Aladdin Trilogy Box Set (much like they did w/ Lion King)
Aladdin: Double Feature (Return of Jafar/The King of Thieves)
The Jungle Book (Diamond Edition)
The Jungle Book 2 (Special Edition)
The Little Mermaid (Diamond Edition)
The Little Mermaid Trilogy Box Set
The Little Mermaid: Double Feature (Return to the Sea/Ariel's Beginning)
Stitch: The Movie/Leroy & Stitch (Double Feature)
Tarzan (Special Edition)
Tarzan II (Special Edition)

then the inevitable double/triple/quad-dips of all the earlier classic releases.

Can't wait for this. It's my fav animated movie of the 2000s decade. Hope it has all the bonus features of the 2-Disc DVD edition. Don't skimp out on the bonus features, Disney!

EDIT: Also interesting -- Lilo & Stitch is being released on Blu-ray in Japan on June 13 (by itself).

I'm a little bit surprised that only the first film is available to order in Japan. Stitch is huge over there, so much merchandise was produced and sold there, and gradually Stitch became so popular that he got his own anime series. Unless maybe Disney Blu-rays (or perhaps the Blu-ray format in general) aren't as big in Japan as they are in the US, I thought they would be getting the 2-movie collection too.
