there are still hundreds of movies i like and want to own that arent on blu ray. as much as i love blu ray as a format the library of films just isnt where it needs to be for me to consider it the superior format. the one and only thing dvd still has over blu is the amount of titles available. thats a big one

A lot of great documentaries and foreign films on DVD that will never probably see a bluray transfer , I'd keep those

Despite the quality of my 15 BD titles, I would give them up if I had no choice as I value my collection of 2005-2010/11 Ashes DVD boxsets highly. (Brits/Aussies know what that is). They are irreplaceable and not available at any cost on BD.

I would give up my blurays, keep my digital copies and keep my DVDs, my Burt Lancaster movies most my DVDs are golden era and younger hollywood and likely wont see a bluray transfer legitimately since many have fallen into public domain due to copyright non renewal.
Though I do love my blurays as I'm sure all of us know some blurays deserve to be redone, then redone again due to jutter, pixelation, graininess, too much total harmonic distortion. But then some others are done just beautifully, so it varies. PS any Criterions I'd keep |
