Great! Hope they have the sense to combine it with Dr Phibes Strikes Back though.

Even more great! The Pit and the Pendulum is probably my favourite. We are talking about the 1962 one of course not that remake nonsense

Do you mean the 1991 one with Lance Henriksen? I thought that was actually one of the better Full Moon films, despite the weak leads.

Just watched the BD and that's another hit by Arrow.
Of course, you have a few shots which are notoriously blurry because of being shot out-of-focus, and you have a few transition shots with grain spikes and lower precision.

But otherwise, it's a beautiful transfer. Colors, blacks, compression, precision, stability, it's all perfectly handled.

Only nit-pick : I found the sound to be a bit low and flat.

I just received mine. I have not checked the Blu-ray yet, but I found it hilarious that they couldn't spell Vincent Price's name right in the booklet. There is a segment VICENT PRICE - his movie, his plays, his life by VICENT PRICE (it's from a 1978 book).

Anyway, steelbook looks AMAZING and I'm glad the disc should rock too.

These things happen. Having been involved in much proof reading myself, it's remarkably easy for obvious errors to slip through no matter how diligent one tries to be. So often the brain sees what it expects to see - not what the eye sees

Post Just received it

I just received the reg version Blu Ray from Amazon UK today. Nice booklet, collectors card, and artwork.

Unfortunately I can't get the disc to play in either Power DVD 13 or Corel WinDVD 10.

Any suggestions?

^Might be a bad disc. Perhaps you could try it on someone else's blu-ray player (if that's possible), or contact Amazon telling them the disc doesn't work, they're good about replacements.

I read elsewhere that this is 3 minutes longer than the Shout (US) release. Is this correct?

I bought a second hand one from CeX today, it has the Arrow symbol and the same artwork on the cover, but the box is standard blue rather than Arrow white, and the certification is 12 rather than 15. No booklet included.

Does anybody know if it is the same disc and same cut of the film, and has it been re-certified in the last couple of years? TIA for any information.

Arrow release has always been 12 (the disc cover also has an Irish classification of 15). I think the advance artwork showing 15 for the UK was an error. Cinema release was an X. Earlier videos were 15.

Looks like CeX sold a secondhand copy which was missing the substantial booklet. Seller probably transferred the disc to a standard case.

Douglas, many thanks for that. Not too fussed about the booklet, as long as it the full cut of the film I'm happy.

It's a shame Arrow didn't do all the Vincent films in these lovely steelbooks.
