Sounds pretty fishy to me.
Don't worry, you'll still be able to ***** about Warner even if this is a fantastic remaster.

Just shift over to 'well, they should have just gotten it right the first time'.

If it does get a great remaster, with lossless audio (and I'm still skeptical),
I'll buy it once the price drops to $10 or less.

No, he did Air Force One and K-19 after The Fugitive.

I'm with everyone else. Remaster and HD audio or this is just plain pointless. If it was just a double dip with a new featurette, they would have put it in a digibook or fancy packaging... But it's just a plain old case and basically identical cover. It's got to be upgraded picture and sound.

I have always really liked it. I manage to make sure and watch it at least once or twice a year.

Better be a new transfer with lossless audio. Otherwise, no sale!

They have such a large film library, yet most of what they release are the same films over and over, sometimes in different packaging to reel in the suckers. What about those Paramount acquisitions - when are they going to ramp those up??

I agree. Most of WBs films are re-releases. Instead of re-releasing a ton of the DVDs that they acquired from Paramount, why couldn't they have released them as Blu-rays?

Yeah That film was pretty forgettable. One view is all you need.

But if The Fugitive turns out to be a remastered or the remastered version we've been hearing about then I'll bite.

Cosmetic/packaging double dips don't bother me at all because they're basically a no-lose proposition for consumers. There's really no downside to repackaging existing discs.

It's not like The Big Sleep got pushed back because Warner devoted huge amounts of resources to a GoodFellas digibook. And some people like digibooks and two-packs and whatnot.

(and some pretty credible signs suggest this isn't a simple repackaging anyway)

Like most everyone else in this forum, I've held out on purchasing the current Blu-ray, simply because it's a MPEG-2 transfer. If it's true what was mentioned in a page back, that Warners has been transferring all their titles to 4K, way to go Warner Bros.!
