BLOOD FOR DRACULA. Slightly better looking than FFF. Still 1080i and rather grainy. Both have print specks etc.

I would hold off on both until they get new transfers overseas or other releases are no better. Still, JB had them for $14 each last week.
Bugger - still hoping that someone somewhere can do some justice for these two titles and release special editions (more so with the 3D on Flesh)

Australia flesh for frankenstein

got both FFF and blood for dracula (JB Hi Fi Cinema Cult)
transfer for BFD is not that bad when you compare it to FFF
BUT having said that - FFF is as bad a HD transfer on blu ray as I have ever seen.
I never post, but this (FFF) release on BD has got my blood boiling
maybe I just got a bad disc.......so am willing to stand corrected
I was going to email Cult Cinema direct but couldn't find a contact point
very disappointing, considering the diverse range they have been releasing of late (and general speaking, OK quality)
but i was really after a good transfer to retire my criterion and image DVD's of FFF.
maybe not yet.....

I compared both of these to the Criterion and Tartan disc and these transfers are without a doubt the same ones. The Criterion and Tartan discs of FFF are both much softer then BFD.

Whilst both the Blu Rays are improvements over the DVDs they are not to the standard one would expect.

Also I could not locate the commentary option for FFF on the Blu Ray.

Anyway, I will hold on to my Tartan DVD copies and off load the Criterion which are not even anamorphic.

These are two very obscure exploitation flicks. They are lucky that source material could be utilised for DVD let alone HD treatment.

Try messaging them on their Facebook page, they respond sometimes over there.

This might be true.

However, rare and obscure cult titles are no different to other titles released in a new format.

Some collectors will grab them regardless because they are new. Others want to know if they are good quality releases in order to justify upgrading (re-buying) older releases.

So I think it's fair to slam a poor-quality release. People can then decide whether to get it or not.

I've read, probably on Facebook after someone else complained, that Shock were given these 1080i transfers as-is, and therefore could do nothing to improve them.

IMO I think that this is better than the original "Friday The 13th".

Fear City appears to the same composite source material used by Shout! It didn't bother me nor did it stop my enjoyment of the film

I have to admit, even as a Friday the 13th fan, The Burning sure had it's great moments, and would definitely give it a run for its money..

The scene on the raft alone was pure gold.

That scene was fantastic, it's hardly ever been redone in other movies (unless i haven't seen them) which is surprising. The Burning would be a perfect movie if Amy Steel in it. She makes Part 2 of the Friday Fanchise one of my favourites.

Watched The Killing yesterday. I have to say, I can't imaging the Criterion disc being any better, the video was quite exceptional.

I'm not a fan of Cinema Cults covers. What's with the ugly grey and boring spines? They almost look like bootlegs when sitting in amongst a shelf.
