The picture Sinthetic posted showed a Jumbo. I think Warner Bros. are moving in that direction with 3D releases.

It's possible the release is just regular size but at the moment I'm inclined to believe it will be a Jumbo.

I was going to go with "Extra Girth gives me Mirth" but that would require a new lifestyle choice...

Pacific Rim - Limited Edition Robot Pack (Exclusive to Amazon.co.uk) [Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + UV Copy] [2013]
only £31.00

Quote:
Product Description
When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenceless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes--a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)--who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

I don't think it is - it looks much slimmer than the Hobbit slipcase (which I don't have a perfect picture of, only this one of mine from the Hobbit thread)

(This one from Amazon shows the thickness a little better)

It could very well turn out to be a jumbo - after all, the official Hobbit cover art on Amazon doesn't show it as a jumbo - but I think that one was just a one-off due to it being 4-discs and both pacific Rim and Man of Steel will be regular sized amarays.

Looking at The Hobbit along with the others I'd say they were all the same. I think Harry Potter had a Jumbo-Amaray too. There seems to be a lot of space around the title of Man of Steel. I would have thought that it would take up more space than on a 14mm case.

That Hobbit picture you've used isn't accurate - that's the mock-up one that Amazon have been using since it was announced, the real one is fatter than that. That's why I don't think they'll be jumbos - the artwork (temp though it may be) just sin't as thick as The Hobbit one to my eyes.

You could very well be right of course, I'm just not seeing it myself

Still not October 15th - as with our US friends.

I'm sure it was much closer in it's cinema release...

Fingers crossed for another release date change!

Looking at the bonus features listing from Zavvi,
it seems the 3D combo pack has all the extras from the US set,
but the 2D version doesn't have the bonus disc extras listed.

This might mean that the 2D version may have less bonus features than the 3D.
