Default Blu-ray Disappeared from Amazon!

Does anyone know why the pre-order is suddenly gone? I have Futurama Volume 8 on my Amazon Wish List, and I was tracking the price here, but just now I noticed that it's listed on Amazon as "Currently Unavailable." (Accordingly, my price tracking now lists N/A as the price.) Here's the link to the Amazon page which was taking pre-orders but, at the time I'm posting this, has switched to "Currently Unavailable":

+1

But of the "Complete Series" (1999-2013). That first set was of Bender's Head, and I'm glad I didn't pick it up now. I hope it's something amazing, like the Planet Express ship!

But you know... a man can dream (stares at finger).

Is there a chance that they will release the Complete Series on Blu-ray as well? If so, I would definitely pre-order then and sell my Futurerama DVD Season Sets 1-4.

Of course there is a chance, just not a very good one.

Fox have plenty of HD animated shows that they could release on BD with minimal effort but only Futurama has been given the honour (for reasons unknown) and I just can't see them releasing upscaled BDs of Seasons 1-4 anytime soon.

What I hope they do soon though is finally give us the first two DTV movies, whoever made the decision to only put them out on DVD needs shooting.

Not that it's a large amount, but you're forgetting The Simpsons & Archer.

Received my Volume 8 BD yesterday, oddly the episode order differs to how it was broadcast

The same is true for volume 7 and the DVD releases of season 1-4. They are all in production order, not broadcast order. Makes sense to me...

I had assumed the broadcast order was the production order, if that is not the case then yes I agree it makes sense.

Since shows typically will start production on episodes that need more time than others (more CG effects, etc) to me they really should stick to broadcast order.

I don't think that is the case here.

The first four seasons were broadcasted by FOX over five seasons completely out of order, especially season 4 and 5. Scruffy is introduced in one episode but Fox already showed episodes with him in it. I think Comedy Central changed the order because they thought 30% Leadbelly is not a great episode. It also got a very low rating by fans. It's good, that the Blu-ray is in the right order. Also, the audio commentaries are recorded in production order.

Any new rumblings of the complete series making it to Blu? I'm tempted just to order the dvd set, but as soon as I do, the bd will be announced. It'd be awesome if we got some kickass packaging!

I too am surprised a complete series Blu-ray set for Futurama has not been announced (yet). I think it would sell really well and get a lot of people who have the DVD's and possibly current Blu-ray seasons to go for the full show on Blu-ray.

I'd say just buy the DVDs and Blu-rays separately now. I don't really care about the first four volumes on Blu-ray since they're just standard def anyway, but I AM a little disappointed that the first two moves aren't on Blu-ray.

And me! Does anybody have any idea what the problem is? They were produced in HD after all, just like the second batch of movies. Fox should really get their act together. Going back to the DVDs is absolutely no option, get these out in HD already!

The first four seasons would still be worthwhile on Blu-ray as it could look pretty good if done properly with HD upscaling and lossless audio. The first two movies in HD is also a must given that they were animated in HD.

I think a set would be very worthwhile.

This just dropped down to $12.96 on Amazon, matching WM's price. Great deal
