I set aside a specific amount of $ from my paychecks, used only for blu-ray deals that are absolutey worth it. New release must-haves/limited edition exclusives: $17.99-$19.99. Recent releases: $9.99-$12.99 (U&S helps too). Catalog titles: $4.99-$7.99.
When I'm not saving up with my own money, I ALWAYS ask for gift cards for holidays/birthdays (BBY, Amazon). Those help me out during U&S and the Black Friday week tremendously. Lastly, Shopkick! Get it, use it, love it! ![]() |

The paycheck from my remedial job and during the school year, I splurge when I get excess student loan money. I've only got $3,200 remaining on my auto loan, and once I have my car paid off I'm pretty sure I won't be saving that $275 I was throwing down on my monthly payment. It's not smart, but hey...

![]() Love Shopkick, too bad they stopped doing gift card for bestbuy ![]() I got around $700 worth of blu-ray from shopkick so far ![]() I only buy new releases if they have exclusives. And wait for sale to go under $10 for rest. I don't have kids yet, don't smoke, and hardly ever drink anymore.(These saves really lot of money) I budget myself to $100 per month and usually pretty good about it unless there is some great deals like U&S or Black Friday. |

I'm pretty good at finding deals, I've picked up some really good titles from local pawn shops for around 3-5 each. For new releases I swear by the Moviestop trade 2 get one deal. I do pick up a lot of blind buys that way, but in the case of a title like Beautiful creatures, I bought it blind. I hated it. Had only about 6-8$ in the cost. Traded back to Moviestop for $15 in store credit. Kept the UV copy in case anyone else in the family wants to see it.
I've got a ton of movies from closing blockbuster videos, where I've funded most of that small cost by selling off some of my haul ( titles that sell for a decent amount)... I follow a philosophy of buying for value with most things, including blu rays. Wanted the James Dean set, so bought it off amazon UK like I did with the Hitchcock collection and other sets. I just spent a few hundred on some really nice clothes from a big sale at a local department store, with prices that were 75-85% off original price, plus 10% off that total... I made out very well as the prices were less than what I pay for lesser clearance items from places like target. With family around, I don't spend as freely, or take weekend trips like I once did |
